IIRC he actually wanted to go to the superduty style because that's what the race units use. The early sets like mine got the Toyota style because he was doing Toyota right before Bronco and the bolt pattern is the same. Either way I don't think I want to mess w/mine now...it's all working for...
Seems to me that everyone having problems is on the super duty based hub bearing? Maybe the Toyota based hub bearing was the way to go? Only issue I have had is the wheel studs are so short...they have not given me problems, but because I take the wheels off for maintenance I felt like over...
Not exactly the same, but I come up with MB3Z-7061-E for a mainshaft #, which is what I came up with for Bronco w/ESOF, I came up with AB3Z-7061-L for the output flange tho...dunno what that would look like! Could be another number to try. 24+ Ranger is a different animal from 19+. When...
Well the only hard fact I have is the the upper picture you posted IS NOT backwards...that is 100% correct, front is at the top left. Hope the Ranger crowd can fill me in on the rest! Repairlink show 3 different pictures, but doesn't tell me which is which...I can pick out RR from memory tho
That is correct for Raptor...the rezeppa is after the center support bearing, and ranger uses a dana rear like Bronco, therefore rezeppa at the rear end flange...Ranger is VERY confusing! RR doubly so! However, what is interesting between those pics is that 4866 LOOKS the same
The whole shaft HAS to be different as @Dusty posted above there is a length difference, what matters is the flange/yoke whatever you want to call it on the front of the driveshaft...too bad Ford doesn't catalog those anymore
So over on the driveshaft side, I can't come up with a number for BN 4866. Maybe you can. If all 6g Ranger use the same 4866 flange then we have a yatzee!
Here is the parts catalog view for 2.3L Ranger w/part time 4x4.. Looks like what you are looking for would be part # MB3Z-7B214-B. Unfortunately repairlink shows zero availability...not unusual when a part is this new tho
I don't think I was very clear. The stock flange would be the solution, if it's the right spline, cause it already uses a u joint in that spot. If I get some time tomorrow I will try to research. What's the spline count I'm looking for, and rough ID?
Has he tried 6g Ranger (24+)? Not sure if base/lower trim Ranger uses that xfer case, but Ranger Raptor uses 4A xfer case AND has a 4bolt flat flange and conventional U joint mounted to it. Doubt all 24+ Ranger are 4A, but I would bet all super crew Rangers use the same style driveshaft. Just...
https://www.wiringdepot.com/store/p/703-Fusible-Link-Wire-Cuts-and-Spools.aspx
I buy mine from a local parts store, but same stuff
The light blue "wire" I have pulled up there is the actual fuse link. That one is 14-16 I think, and the wire is 10, or 12ga(don't remember) use fuse link 4 GA...
To start a fire like that it had to be, unless the fuse was not a fuse at all. Judging by how close the damage was to the battery I kinda agree that it must have shorted upstream of the fuse. I prefer fusible link for this exact reason. Simply butt connector 2-3inches of fuse link to the very...
Were you able to identify the 100a fuse you used at the battery after the fire? I would check continuity w/an ohm meter and if it didn't blow, I would file a claim w/the manufacturer. I prefer fusible link for these types of installations, but the fuse should have worked. 4ga should handle...
Should probably measure with wheels removed hub to hub sometime. I am planning to change wheel studs next maintenance interval (did you ever find longer ones for yours? I ordered some ARP ones that are probably too long and I will cut them). I'm thinking sticking to our setup might be the way...
Which tire did you end up going with? Why would yours be wider than mine? Just because of the hub/bearing change? I can check my track width when I get home. Anything else you want measured?
I use those to lift the fuel tank when removing it (taking it off a jack, or putting it back on). Lots of plastic tanks have those...they are kinda nice!
