correct 100%, we also don't need to get into valve sizes/shrouding with the smaller bores of the 2.7 or any of that. Neither of these engines are designed to be high rpm screamers. They are both perfectly fine for their intended purposes.
Jeep did release another steering box update this month. Looks like they went back to an iron box instead of aluminum. Seems to fix the steering wander/deadspot that has plagued the JLs/JTs since the beginning.
I wouldn't put much stock in that. I could say the 2.3 has 33% fewer moving parts to fail. Also, we are talking about what, 24? cubic inches difference in displacement.
Funny, I had an 05 LJ. I wheeled my xj harder than I ever did that wrangler, and it was way more stable on road too. Went to a late JK a few years ago and havent looked back.
The only real difference would be gearing and tire size right? Badlands should be 33's and 4.46? WT will be 35's and 4.70. Assuming a few unknowns, the smaller tire should accelerate/decelerate faster for the same amount of force, so I would guess the Badlands would be faster in a drag race...
The 3.6/8A is a good combo. Still light on torque down low, but workable. FCA needs to gear the manuals deeper than 4.10 on the sports and 4.56 may be the right answer..
Not a fan of that at all. It completely kills your approach angle, and looks like an afterthought designed by a person that has never used one in the real world.
All of the above. The 190 vs 210 is the ring gear diameter in mm. So almost an inch bigger for the 210, plus iron vs aluminum. For on road driving, no big deal. For locked duty off road in the rocks on big tires, it's a weak link
In order to do that (squatch gearing and m210 front diff), you have to buy a badlands. That throws a giant wrench into the affordability aspect. A no options 2 door badlands is $43500 sticker.
Sasquatch comes with wheels that are a half inch wider, backspace is probably the same or close to.. worst case, buy a new wheel or a set of spacers and run what you want,
Anyone have experience with Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO 3?
Looking like a fantastic lightweight option.
revo’s are good tires, they have pretty light duty sidewalls
Yes, the orange one on 37s is running something other than stock Bronco stuff. The JL Rubicons and Gladiators are running 37s and 38s on the M220 already, so I'm not too worried about the rear. The front is the scary one.
A 2 door on 35s will get me most places I go, so I'm not terribly...
Ahhh, ok. Bronco is IFS. As the tire moves through its wheel travel, the tire stays essentially perpendicular to the ground. The Jeep being SFA, as it flexes (one tire up, the other down) the top of the high tire angles in. I attached a couple pics to help visualize. There is another vector...
