  1. Mud Flaps to go with Hoop Steps?

Non SAS, so you should have the crash bar? I made my own. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/easy-inexpensive-diy-mud-flaps-that-fit-with-crash-bar-and-factory-running-boards.83387/
  2. Turbo newbie question - mpg and boost

Maximizing gas mileage is simple. Drive like grandma (driving like this actually takes some discipline). When I was breaking in the vehicle I took it easy. I was getting 21+, and sometimes 22+ (according to the on board meter). Driving cruise at 65 keeps me well over 20, maybe close to 21...
  3. Tail lights condensation issue ?

NOT normal. Dealer rep is trying to get out of the hassle of fixing it, or is lazy, or is ignorant.
  4. Easy & inexpensive DIY mud flaps that fit with crash bar and factory running boards

I ended up using a thicker flap with drain grooves to reduce side splashing: Buyers Products Grooved Back Semi-Truck Mud Flaps - Pair, 24in.W x 24in.L, Black, Model Number B24PSRPB. Either will do, though. Measure twice, cut a little, and then check for alignment in the crash bar. I cut along...
  5. Helmholtz Resonator elimination to reduce hardtop windnoise

Well, after 335 miles last Saturday, mostly in the rain, and cruising around 84 MPH for long stretches, the pieces stayed in place. No leaks, so the insulation is not backing up water anywhere. I think I'll just keep them as is and call it "done."
  6. Meet Duke, my custom heritage version Bronco w/ white painted top, grille and wheels

Woah! While your Retro is indeed impressive, I love that red '78! It even has the diamond plate running boards that my parent's old Bronco had when I was a kid! That is an awesome old Bronco!!
  7. Auto Start Stop eliminator

Totally off topic - do you still have that '78 Bronco in your avatar? I drove a red '78 as my first driver when I was a kid. It had the bench front seat. Loved that Bronco!!!
  8. Auto Start Stop eliminator

I just push the little "A" button after starting my car.
  9. Helmholtz Resonator elimination to reduce hardtop windnoise

Mine is like this. I'm going on a 335 mile trek this weekend and we'll see how it holds up without the z strip. To get the flush fit, I took a relatively wide, flat piece of metal (e.g., the handle end of a large fork), worked it under the hard top, and then gently nudged the insulation in...
  10. Helmholtz Resonator elimination to reduce hardtop windnoise

I'd like to see what the z strip covering looks like when finished. For a "final" version, I cut the pipe insulation along the precut seam, and then cut a section length wise and inserted it into the cavity, with the flat, precut seam edge exposed. Once in place, I took a flat piece of...
  11. Wrangler goes electric only in 2028

I’m tired of these auto companies forcing crap down our throats that we don’t want. It’s fine if there’s going to be an option for some consumers, but when they change the entire line when ice engines are far superior for every day use, well that drives me nuts. If jeep does this, I hope they...
  12. Helmholtz Resonator elimination to reduce hardtop windnoise

^^^^ That looks a lot better than my first attempt! Let us know how it works on your Bronco.
  13. Helmholtz Resonator elimination to reduce hardtop windnoise

I installed pipe insulation to reduce wind noise as detailed in other threads (see, e.g., this thread). While it helped, I still noticed a lot of wind noise in the back of the Bronco. I examined the outside and noticed there is a chamber formed between the back section of the hardtop and the...
  14. Order on Ford website??

Contact your dealer to see if they placed the order. When we placed our order, the order banks were not open, but once they opened and the dealer placed the order, we received an e-mail from Ford stated the order was placed.
  15. Wife needs help getting in the Bronco. Looking for stirrup options if any

if you are looking to keep orthopedic ankle surgeons in business, that’s a good solution.
  16. Recommendations for Mud flaps on OBX

Like you I was at a loss. The tube step is far enough forward that it blocks many after market mud flaps. So I made my own: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/easy-inexpensive-diy-mud-flaps-that-fit-with-crash-bar-and-factory-running-boards.83387/ The polymer is 0.15" thick. I just...
  17. Easy & inexpensive DIY mud flaps that fit with crash bar and factory running boards

I had decided to not install mudflaps, given that there were no after market flaps that readily fit my Bronco. But after driving slowly through a small puddle and muddying my running boards (see below), I reconsidered. My Bronco will not easily accommodate mud flaps due to the front of the...
  18. 2021 Bronco Sport - 2 dead Batteries and Rear shocks leaking

My daughter's Sport battery died at about 1200 miles over warranty. Like you, she was in congested traffic. I made a fuss at the dealer, and Ford replaced the battery under warranty. Keep on them. A battery replacement is not a "high ticket" item, and with enough *respectful* fuss they will...
  19. Thoughts on Safe Deposit Box

Yes. I found a kydex holster, like a LightTuck, is good for situations like this. Doesn't add much bulk to the profile of the gun, and securely covers the trigger.
