I hadn't noticed the bubbles until y'all saw them in the pics, I squeezed them out this evening in about 2 minutes. The edges of the liner aren't frayed but the pile is long so the edges can photograph "fuzzy."
Also FWIW, the Ford ESP does cover removable hard tops and hard top panels, not...
The change was probably dictated by real-world experience. Remember that the MIC tops were so delayed in development that designing other things around them was difficult.
I can add that the "underlayment" that feels like rubberized vinyl extends to the areas as shown in the early image, but the acoustic material itself has been trimmed back.
I'd wager that the material was cut back to avoid rubbing your knuckles over it while turning the latches, as that isn't a...
Lots of people asking about their builds being "stuck" in the "in production" phase on the tracker.
The tracker just isn't be updated to reflect shipping status until long after the fact. In the vast majority of cases, your builds have been released to shipment and are on the way.
Your...
Torrential rain and one trip thru the high-pressure car wash already, ZERO issues with water intrusion.
The way the panels lock back in, I don't see how it would be possible to mis-install them causing a lack of seal. The latches are big, beefy, and obvious, and every quarter turn lever has a...
The headliner kit actually appears to be 2 layers: There is some sort of thin vinyl "sticker" placed directly on the interior of the roof panels that is then covered with a thick-pile Ozite style acoustic carpet. It's much thicker than felt, and reminds me of the "good" carpet used on speaker...
There have been more than a few delivered with etched windows and some sketchy roof edges, as I think MAP got a little too zealous in pushing them out. As of this morning's production restart I do NOT envision that happening again.
Obviously the shitshow that is Webasto's production of Molded-in-Color hardtops for Bronco has caused issues throughout the last year, and now seeing dozens of Broncos parked outside of MAP with "Bad Roof" chalked on their windows isn't helping matters.
With 2 weeks under my belt on my 2021...
AFAIK there's no bulk scheduling and VIN dumps this week, but there will be some notices for new builds being scheduled and existing builds being pulled forward. Can't say for certain how many.
And a bit of an update.
MY2021 total output is stable. This is good.
HT/ST ratio is shifting. Again. Snags in Plymouth as the slow-motion train wreck that is Webasto's ramp up continues.
All but certain now that we'll see retail soft top 4 door units in MY21. Potentially sooner rather than...
Not as bad as it appears, not great. Etching in the glass and misaligned latches have been consistent issues with some tops from Webasto.
Decidedly concerning that units were paired with bad tops during production. More concerning that several units have been delivered with these issues.
I...
This doesn't jive with any of the scheduling info I have from my sources.
I think the GM is conflating some scheule priority bits into something they aren't.
It sounds good, arguably better than it should.
Good sleuthing! I live a little ways off of Main St (back by the pool) but parked there that day to run up to the 3rd floor theater over old town hall to grab something.
It's a friend of a friend's and I'm working on it!
