Penalties seem to be there to ensure a higher close rate on the orders, customer satisfaction, and reduce dealer markup. I believe there would be a ton of shenanigans if the whole process was left solely to the dealers. I think customer satisfaction is a top priority for Ford right now.
So assuming there's people on here who would want your FE and willing to pay cash upfront for it, couldn't you just keep both reservations, have the buyer meet you at Granger when both are ready, and then sell it to him on the spot? Use his funds to pay Granger?
You wouldn't have registered it...
@bronc_rwc he did say Granger was a screaming deal, and what he said about group shipping isn't wrong. He also admitted he wasn't here to generate more business, and as of yet he certainly hasn't offered anything that will retain / generate more customers. So far no surprises.
All these dealers are saying they will allow x plan... If Ford allows it. Just waiting for something official from Ford corporate (not a dealer) saying that also applies to FE. Some have mentioned the FE might be excluded.
Can't assume anything anymore...
Has it been confirmed that ford has made the FE x-plan eligible? I just tweeted at Mike levine and asked.
If it's not eligible I think that's the nail in the coffin for me and I'll switch to another trim.
Sean's not an engineer, he's a salesman at a dealership. I think we should just stick to the reservation/ sales aspects specific to Serramonte for the moment.
Sean my question echos Matt Boston's. I received this from your GM, so this is now changed?
You pay the destination charge regardless of the dealer. Only once.
The shipping from Granger to here makes the $1300 discount a wash. So you're left with paying invoice. So yeah if you can guarantee x plan here it's probably worth buying local, if not Granger might be a better option
I think I remember seeing that and someone read the fine print which mentioned it was for only vehicles currently on the lot, which wouldn't be applicable to an ordered vehicle like the bronco
@thattrue32 my res is with serramonte and I'm definitely switching. The day after I got my res the GM confirmed over email they would be charging ADM on mine. Yes he responds to emails but that's irrelevant to me if they want ADM.
I'll pull the trigger on Granger most likely, either with...
My question as well. And I'm still not convinced "A/Z" means the same as "every plan A through Z" because Mike is extremely careful with his word choice. Maybe he means A and Z, not necessary X.
Probably overthinking it but taking everything Mike says with a grain of salt, especially after...
Here's one example

2020 raptor supercrew. Same price as a first edition
The way I read it is that the only thing Ford is committing to is build and price for the Bronco this fall with Bronco ordering in December. Every reply about the raptor/warthog was a non committal emoji to keep stringing people along
