My interior door handle has developed a noticeable annoying squeak (video). It’s plastic on plastic so it makes sense this is going to squeak eventually. The handle is a plastic cover in front and an integrated plastic bracket in back. It’s secured with three panel clips in the front and...
Somewhat off topic, and maybe it’s just me, but wouldn’t it be nice if Bronco aftermarket parts suppliers used metric hardware?
Since I need a bunch of SAE tools too, I’ve just gone with my own bespoke tool rolls/bags (metric, SAE, common tools). Would be nice to only need one tool set like...
After ripping (literally) by hand a front fender off today (and breaking 12 of the 14 fender clips) a fellow Raptor owner and I have been brainstorming modifying some front flares ( already in hand) to narrow them by 2.5”.
That’s going to require cutting down the liners 2.5” and thus I’d like...
The Perl for textured plastic sounds intriguing. 303 works ok, but takes a ton of product after the mud and moist silt in CA/NV has a chance to sit for a day. It’s amazing how crappy the hood vent can look after that.
For the flares, they’re a lost cause. I just trail polish them between...
Seven Mile Rim was a lot of fun. Not too difficult, but had some fun challenges and lines. Uranium Arch with no one there was very cool. And a poor man’s Top of the World photo opportunity cantilevered over the cliff along the way.
No knock on Subies either, my daughter has one too. But….I’ve recovered 5 or 6 of them now and so far no subie has pulled me out yet…. 🤪
its a real head shaker when you roll up on one stuck out in the forest all by itself in 18 inches of fresh snow, every car mat out and someone digging with a...
Glad to hear they’ve updated the bumpers and stand behind them. As far as the mounting slots , that was my guess as to what the underlying issue was. I’d prefer a hole over a slot for mounting in any event. It’s a fair point on using the tow hitch recovery point, but it seemed more reliable...
Here’s one of my street queen shortly after @popo_patty helped dig me out of an ill advised U-turn after losing the trail…
and the next day heading up to higher elevation…
Personally I went with Hypercos 2” and the Foutz top hats (no lift). I did the no lift top hat for reliability and they’re easy to do with springs out.
I’d check with Foutz, but I think if you’re looking for lift they’d recommend top hats with lift OR springs, not both.
Couldn’t decide whether to powder coat, line-X, wrap or paint my front bash plate and engine skid. Decided to go with a bougie artisanal manually applied distressed look.…. I think they came out great! 🤪
Seriously, I pulled them when I was attempting to seat my aftermarket tie rod boots on...
technically the fenders and flares should bolt on to your Bronco, but im not sure if there wouldn’t be a conflict with some other body part. It’s going to be crazy expensive to buy them and other relevant parts. Maybe Sasquatch flares would fit. There also are some aftermarket fenders that...
This same discussion came up a year or so ago. I’m not going to reconcile Autotraders listings, but maybe this chart from at @ChiliPepper will help you conclude that autotrader isn’t correct. He tracks this from Ford reporting meticulously each month…. No. Way. There. Are. 4000. Unsold 2024...
If mpg is a priority avoid 37 or 38” tires. Fenders and flares are stock on Raptor.
not sure about body armor, but I have RCI Sliders, Foutz rear arm, shock mount and diff skids
There will probably less than 3000 Braptor built in 2024. Alittle over 3000 Braptors in 2023 and under 2700 in 2022. I don’t know how you’re getting 4000 2024 Braptor in inventory, but it’s wrong.
Hyperco 2”/1” springs, 38x13.5, Falken R/T01, +6 rims. Sits level, clearances are good on road and when flexed,, ride is still good, but not as plush as stock tires and springs. Gas mileage and acceleration are down a bit. im happy with the mods, but there’s no free lunch going with bigger...
In a pinch blue painters tape works quite effectively and removes easily. I’ve ppfed my paint but not the standard black flares. Most the the time it’s not an issue, but one trail in particular was terrible. I blue taped leading edges on flares and mirrors, should have done the roof edges...
38”x13.5“ D-rated Falken Wildpeak R/T01s on 17”x8.5” +6 Icon Rebound Pro (Inner Beadlocks). Hypercoil 2”/1” Coil lift with Foutz billet top hats.
Sits level (at bottom of flares over the hubs) despite the appearance in the pic. road is sloped in the pic. This includes winch/winch plate up...
The Bronco is cabin noise on four wheels. Tires, lights, etc have just made it noisier. Wheeling has added a couple new ones. I’ve learned to embrace it, vs alternative of going crazy.
That said, the window wobble on open still gives we grief. Yes, I’ve fully adjusted the windows to...
