Preach it Nick, same thought process. If I have to go all the way to a badlands to get decent axles and the 2.3/7spd with useful gearing, you're at JLU Rubicon transaction $
exactly what I saw.. factory order is the right answer, and MSRP means nothing on these jeeps. $7k off sticker is totally obtainable, especially with the $2-3000 cash on the hood.
Honestly, compared to the JL and JLU they are a better value. Bigger axles, no 3.45 gearing, and adding aux switches doesn't cost $800. I don't like the soft tops on the jeeps because of the plastic side windows, but that issue goes away on the gladiator. For a sport S with the 7" radio, aux...
Hopefully someone in the aftermarket makes replacement rash rings for the wheels. Preferably big enough to hide that ugly wheel and just leave the center 6 inches visible
Likely the route we'll have to go to get what it looks like a bunch of people want, but the value proposition definitely goes down. I HATE the ford beadlocks with a passion, worst looking wheel they could have chosen, but would have bought a black diamond/squatch and promptly re-shoed it...
I just did one on autotrader. 7% manuals for gladiator, and 6.2 or so for wranglers. But dealers rarely stock "reasonable" builds. They are $30k strippers or $50k+ loaded soccer mom wagons.. Ford sells every GT350 they make, and all SVT cars were manual only for years..
Gotcha, thanks for taking the time to reply! And I honestly believe taking the manual sasquatch away from buyers is essentially what jeep has done and why so many people were so excited about bronco
double quoting is complicated, but you posted
" This unfortunate fact was something that I had seen earlier in development. However, when they made no mention of it in all of the release materials, I thought they had reversed course. I guess not. I don't think it is a hardware issue because...
Not a true apples to apples comparison. Most jeep people that buy them to wheel them will factory order what they want. Most of the jeep inventory on lots is bloated content rubi and sahara or base strippers with $5000 in bad lift and bro-dozer wheels and tires. Houston has also had horrible...
You're right, I went back and looked, I was remembering the taller gears on the auto for the badlands. Can you elaborate on the issues that popped up in testing?
Then the crawl ratio of 95:1 is 100% wrong. 6.56 (1st gear 7spd) x3.06 (transfer case) x4.70 axle gears is the ONLY way to get there. The auto has a 1st gear in the 4's, and 4.70s are only available in the sasquatch.
