One of the accessories I got from Ford was the Deluxe Cargo Enclosure. I wanted something that would provide me some relatively secure storage when out and about topless.
Install was easy, though I chose to leave some parts out - I didn't include the struts. Basically, I want to be able to pull...
I should also mention that my wife and I had a couple of opportunities to check out some Broncos in person. First at a dealership back in 2021. I wanted to see how much the height of the vehicle might be an issue for my 5'0" wife. We checked out a Black Diamond and an Outer Banks. She got in...
Next day was busy, though not with mods exactly.
Got the Harken Hoist installed. Fairly simple, if a little time consuming. Biggest challenge is keeping the rear top section level when raising or lowering. If I actually close the rear glass, it keeps the top in place on the straps. Put a towel...
Here's a couple of shots of the grounding busbar.
Got the sill guards installed. Installed easy, and they match the CO great.
Next up comes the lights. I don't need massive banks of gargantuan lights to illuminate an airfield, but I do need some fog lights. We get some heavy fog in the...
Next were the badges.
I moved the Badlands trim badges. One to the top inside of the swingate and one... to a place I will describe later.
Added the Bronco script, which I fortunately got from Bronco Depot quite a while back. Swapped the chrome Bronco on the swingate for the black version. And...
And I would be remiss if I did not mention the surprise I got when I got to the first wash. There, nestled on the cowl at the base of the windshield ā was a rusty metal file. I really donāt know where it came from, but I think it must have been there when I took delivery. Fortunately, it stayed...
Inevitably, I couldnāt find my wire strippers when working on the wiring box, so it took far too long. So I didnāt get much more done the first day. But fortunately, I was able to get an appointment quickly to get my windows tinted. Iāve never added tint to any of my previous vehicles, but where...
First step was the hood struts. Easy to install, work well, and provide a bit more room to work under the hood. After that, replacing the stock antenna with the stubby.
Now it was time for a bit of creativity. I have a number of accessories I plan to connect to the aux switches. But I also...
Itās long past time that I got around to putting together a build journal. I planned to write it as I installed things, but that didnāt happen. Fortunately, I at least got pictures as I went.
I havenāt been as active on the forums lately, so for those that donāt know Iām pretty much a noob when...
Anyone else in the Gold Country Broncos FB group?
They're organizing a trail run to Saddleback Mountain on 11/19. I'm cautiously optimistic I'm finally going to make it out.
Just got mine installed on Monday. Likewise impressed with build quality and ease of install.
My sole complaint is the hardware for the logo plates.
Whole thing is black, screws that secure the face to the outer structure are black, you can choose the color of your plate... and the hardware...
Just picked mine up from Serramonte last weekend.
They are having issues with the local yards - evidently they had 60 units in Richmond waiting for truck drivers. Mine sat there 2 weeks.
(And sometimes Ford ships but doesn't update the status)
Fail.
Good idea, terrible execution.
Squaring the fender flares is a good idea, but doing it properly means squaring them and covering the curve (so cutting inside the curve). And it absolutely should next extend so far that you need additional cutouts to accommodate the fuel door...
Did anyone else have theirs ship out on 8/12 for the Bay Area? I don't have my rail info, but the estimate I got from Ford was arriving at the dealer between 8/26 and 9/1. Wondering if things are still on track.
