A whole lot of internet mechanics on here. "My friend who knows a guy who's mom's brother's realtor has a cousin who knew a mechanic said the 2.3 was badddd". Either engine will be great for the Bronco realistically.
I want a manual trans and I have no doubt the 2.3 will be excellent...
The top and doors have not been on my Jeep in 2 years. I definitely do get spiders here and there but nothing outrageous. Actually, other than spiders, I very rarely get bugs in it. Not a major concern in my experience.
Yes sir, I've had very minor stuff with the Charger. I'm a Ford guy at heart but my last new Fords were at the dealer for warranty work constantly. I actually traded my Focus ST at 13k miles because it was such a nightmare.
I attribute FCA's reliability (never thought I'd say an FCA product was...
I'll be getting rid of my 2018 Charger Daytona for the Bronco. Definitely going to miss the Mopar world. And honestly a little nervous to deal with Ford service departments again after having such a great experience with Dodge service. When I have an issue (under warranty), no matter how small...
Any trim/options Ford sells will make a fine DD. They aren't in the business of selling off-road exclusive vehicles that drive poorly on the street. It's based on the Ranger and it's IFS. It will be just fine. The Bronco will spend 99% of it's time on pavement and most won't ever take it offroading.
The gearing is definitely a concern for me. I'm curious to see how the manual feels with the 32"s because I really would like to upgrade to a 33". Makes it look so much beefier.
I went from a 27" tire to a 30" on my Jeep with stock gearing (manual trans) and it really killed acceleration. I...
These articles and videos have made my mind up for sure. The manual is definitely worth sticking with the 2.3. Seems like it's more than enough motor for the Bronco.
I don't like the idea of ordering a vehicle, certainly with a manual, without being to drive it though. You'd be surprised just...
Any idea of what the standard gauge cluster/screen will look like? Hopefully they don't use that crappy 3.5" base screen they've been using forever. It can't be more than 240P.
Definitely need to see a production BD (or as close as possible). The 32" tires almost look small on the Bronco. General Grabber ATX is an excellent tire btw. Pretty heavy though.
This will be my 4th new vehicle purchase from my local dealer, Portsmouth Ford. Huge dealer, no bull, no dealer fees and always way under MSRP. Probably won't be under MSRP for the Bronco though haha.
Still unsure about what trim I'll end up with but I'll be going with General Grabber AT/X regardless. Have them on my Jeep and they're my favorite A/T tire. The only downside is they pickup/sling rocks horribly. Excellent on-road manners and impressive off-road.
They balance very well also...
Ford has been very clear that they have no plans to offer the 2.7 with a manual for the foreseeable future.
It does seem like they're possibly working to offer the manual with the Sasquatch Package as it wouldn't require a whole lot to make it work. According to Levine's tweets anyway.
$1995 for 10-Speed. $995 for 2.7. The 10-speed will undoubtedly be quite a bit more expensive than the 2.7 because Ford knows most buyers will require an auto. The average buyer probably doesn't care about the bigger engine.
2 Door Big Bend. I'd rather have the Base and save some money because I really don't think the Big Bend adds anything besides giving you the option to spend more money on higher packages. But the color options are really bland on the Base (not including Velocity Blue).
As much I love the...
I'm running General Grabber ATX on my Jeep and they are by far my favorite AT tires. Best combo of on-road and off-road performance. Super quiet, relatively light for an AT, and they look awesome. Definitely a good choice for a daily driver that sees some moderate off-roading. Mud and snow...
Like others have said, a high revving V8 making most of it's torque on the top end just doesn't make sense for the Bronco. Also keep in mind CAFE standards and MPG averages would be affected.
The 2.7 will be plenty in the Bronco and if it's not enough for you, tune it. You'll be impressed...
