As a Ranger owner I should be offended....but I have to somewhat agree with you.
I hated the look when I got it. Looks like a Tacoma to me. After a while it started to grow on me and now it's ok. The Ranger was only suppose to hold me over until the Bronco came out, but I need more towing, so...
I'm surprised you were underwhelmed by the 2.3 and extremely surprised you felt it was slower than the diesel. I'd be willing to bet absolutely any amount of money that the 2.3 would destroy the diesel in a drag race.
I grew up on nothing but large V8's and the 2.3 really impresses me.
I'm not...
Unfortunately, what you see is probably what you will get. The leather fitment quality is on par with the new Rangers. Lots of complaints about it on the Ranger5G site. My leather seats were loose and saggy after the 1st test drive.
No disrespect intended, as that may be true, but do you really want to go to court to prove it? If it's just a little fender bender, then the trailer weight probably wouldn't even come up. But what if the damage is excessive or someone gets injured. Then the insurance company will be looking...
I have that keypad shown by the OP on my Ranger. It's just a stick-on, so it's possible to move it anywhere. I relocated mine to the rear door pillar, because it's black and blends in better. It is pretty cheap looking. I would like to use it all the time so I don't have to take my keys with...
Good thing I originally edited my comment to add "AFAIK". :D
I didn't know that. I'm surprised they'll build the existing Ranger along side the Bronco. Extra tooling to do that until the new Ranger comes out and they share the frame and other components.
I come on this site every day hoping to see an announcement on increased towing capacity. I want a Bronco, but can't live with the current tow capacity.
I hope your not right about the Bronco truck. I don't think I'd like a truck version of the Bronco. Personally I'm not a fan of the...
One thing in favor of those with reservations is they will not be building the Ranger along side the Bronco for the 1st year at least. The plant will be Bronco only at the start AFAIK.
That plant is for the Bronco and the NEW Ranger, which hasn't even been spotted in camo yet. It's at least a...
I too am old school and thought the exact same thing before I bought my Ranger.
I absolutely can not believe that I talk praise about a 4 banger now. I never thought I would do that, but the 2.3 moves that truck better than my built up V8's in my cars of past.
To the OP, I personally...
I want a Bronco bad, but have to have the towing. I voted for 5k minimum on the 4dr because I feel that is entirely possible (they should be able to get 6k+).........but if I could get 5k on the 2dr, I wouldn't even wait for year 2 and I'd gladly pay the ridiculous 1st year markups all the...
The low tow capacity is a deal breaker for me too. I was expecting at least 5000lb.
I just don't buy the "it's an off-road vehicle, so it shouldn't tow" argument.
Ford sacrificed some off-road capability already by going with an IFS for better on-road capability and everyone buying a Bronco...
I am holding out a sliver of hope.
The hitch they currently show is a tiny bolt on. Maybe if they release a proper hitch that bolts to the frame rails..........?
I planned to be a 2nd year buyer, but that's not going to happen now.
I love the Bronco, but the tow capacity is a killer for me. I expected the 4dr was going to be around 6500. The new Defender is 8000lb, even in the 2dr, so based on that and the fact the Bronco is going to share the same...
You are correct. I have to tow and I bought a new Ranger to hold me over until the 2nd year Bronco's are out. I fully expected it to have at least 5000lb towing capacity, especially since the frame will be shared with the new Ranger. I really expected the 2dr would be minimum 5000 and the 4dr...
