It's a slippery slope. I reserved a base. Then my wife got involved, and it became a BB with mid, because she had to have heated seats. Then it became an OBX, because she had to have heated leather seats. My best advice is keep your wife away from B&P!
When I watched the interior reveal video, I couldn't help but think it was like watching an HGTV Dream Home show (my wife makes me watch it) and the home looks awesome until the interior designers screw it up. ?
The OBX is the worst - my wife wanted the brown leather, but the bright blue accents look horrendous with it, and that's before you add in the exterior color on the inside of the door. I switched for the moment to a BD, because at least the gray vinyl doesn't clash with anything. It's still not...
It really is. I'm all over the place, building everything from bases to BLs... It should have been much simpler, just a few very strange decisions have made the process much more difficult.
Exactly, there's clearly errors in the B&P. And it's not like Ford wouldn't have noticed if someone here hadn't mentioned it.. Be nice if they'd fact checked before opening up B&P, but here we are.
Thanks for the info. I had read it could damage your transfer case. I've only had AWD in the past until recently buying a Ranger. I did use 4H once in a monsoon, but otherwise I leave it in 2H. This winter will be my first with it. I still like the foolproof nature of 4A, but I can live without it.
Thanks! I hadn't paid too much attention to that since people were saying it was loaded with errors. That reference guide does suggest 4A is optional on BB. I'm still skeptical that you can buy the mid package for $1495 and it includes the $1595 auto that is otherwise optional. Seems off. I hope...
4H and 4L are good off road, but for on road driving in snow you can just leave it in 4A and you'll get traction as needed. As I understand it, you should not use 4H or 4L on road.
That's great. Where did that come from, I couldn't find it on Ford's site? I still need (want) 4A, which doesn't appear to be a stand alone option on BB.
I didnt drive the f150 because I prefer mid size trucks. I don't even need a back seat so I bought the supercab for the longer bed. My neighbor has a f150 with 2.7 that I want to drive to help decide between the 2.3 and 2.7.
