Honestly I'd rather have a decent spot to keep my phone in place while I'm driving around. Pretty useless if you ask me. I'll probably just shut it off, so my phone doesn't get as hot as Mordor's volcano.

The case I'm using is very thin, so that shouldn't be an issue. I have a four hour road trip coming up next week. I'll let the phone die and charge while off on the trip down. On the way back I'll charge from low battery with the phone on. I'll record the times. Ha I'm a nerd.
I had PPF installed on my Bronc from a local shop I've done some business with. $2400 and they guarantee their work for the life of the vehicle. They did a great job. I had them do everywhere but the rear door. That price included window tint and the interior door sills.
When I worked at the Ford dealer, the Explorer ST I would cruise around charged my phone fairly well. A little disappointed but it is what it is I suppose.
Sounds like this is normal then. I didn't want to have to take it to a dealer. I just figured the wireless charger would have been a little better than my 2016 Tacoma, but it's the same experience. Hot phone and no decent charge. Almost makes me want to turn it off.
