  1. Does the 4 doors even matter for passenger space?

I can see some advantages in certain kinds of rough terrain situations for the shorter wheelbase of the 2-door. Sound like what you want is the four-door, but you don't want the actual back doors. You want the space of a four-door, but you want passengers to have to squeeze behind the front...
  2. Does the 4 doors even matter for passenger space?

That probably kills that idea, then. So, the two-door's back seat must be narrower, to fit between the wheel wells, and that's surely where one might want to try to relocate the back seat in a four-door to get more leg room. I suppose it might be possible to take out the stock back seat in a...
  3. Does the 4 doors even matter for passenger space?

I wonder how the back seat is mounted, and whether it would be feasible, to undo the stock mounting and devise a way to remount it farther back, trading cargo area for more legroom. Not an important consideration for me. I need cargo room more than I need more back seat leg room. I suppose...
  4. IAG rock rail retrofit steps….we want to know what YOU want!!

A V2, used as it was originally intended to be used, could definitely scuff your paint.
  5. IAG rock rail retrofit steps….we want to know what YOU want!!

I guess it can be tricky, at times, choosing between a pulsejet-powered cruise missile, or a rocket-powered ballistic missile. At least they never did get their huge multi-stage cannon to the production stage.
  6. Is there a factory security/alarm system option for the Bronco?

My reaction is at first to think I could build that myself, for less $$$, but the time it would take to acquire the parts and put them together would probably be worth more than $15.
  7. Anybody live in LA area and could bring their Bronco in to be measured for a hard top?

Taking a look at what they offer for a four-door J••p, it looks like their pricing will be significantly better than that other vendor, for what may very likely be a better product. https://www.rallytops.com/shop/jeep-jk-4dr-2-pc/
  8. What are you using your comms radios for, and what do you have? (VHF, GMRS, FRS etc..)

Which has the better range. GMRS allows higher power, but I do not fully understand the effects that different frequency ranges have on propagation. GMRS is a much higher frequency range, right? I'm thinking that might make it more dependent on line-of-sight.
  9. What are you using your comms radios for, and what do you have? (VHF, GMRS, FRS etc..)

Well, what I am thinking of, technically, wouldn't really be one radio. Two radios in one case. One object to mount in one's vehicle, instead of two, one set of controls, one speaker, one microphone, to be able to communicate on both bands. Two separate antenna connections, of course, since a...
  10. $4,838 ADM unreasonable on a Wildtrack Hardtop?

I've got it in my head that with the uncertain wait time ahead of me for the Bronco that I ordered (ordered in October, dealer estimated at the time it'd probably arrive in June, as of now, no build date yet), about $5,000 is as much over MSRP as I'd be willing to go, if someone had the exact...
  11. IAG rock rail retrofit steps….we want to know what YOU want!!

I guess I should answer the question that was actually asked. With regard to my previous discussion, of whether a variant can be made that can be bolted on, and safely left in place for rock-crawling, obviously that would have to be closest to V1, as it would not do to have it down below the...
  12. Bob Blaylock

    Sac Bronco Club

It's certainly a very good question. I don't have a good answer. It does occur to me that the Bronco may not be the only vehicle in Eruption Green, so even if you cannot find a Bronco in that color, perhaps you can find another vehicle in that color. I think you'll just have to visit Ford...
  13. IAG rock rail retrofit steps….we want to know what YOU want!!

My first question, always, whenever anything is put before me that I might want to buy, is what will it cost me? Any word on pricing, for these? I have a Badlands on order, which comes with rock rails, not tube steps. My wife, @Seanette, is of less than average height, with legs of less than...
  14. Anyone considered changing modem from 4g LTE to 5g?

That's good to hear. So there is, in fact, a very good chance that before 4G is phased out, there will be an upgrade to allow our Broncos to operate on 5G or something later, then. Any word on pricing for the extant upgrades that you've mentioned for other vehicles?
  15. Ideas about travelling in groups…

Yes, that's where I am, as well. I ordered mine in October. At the time, my dealer estimated that I'd probably have it around June. I guess I won't have any more clue about how accurate his estimate may be until Ford gives me a VIN and an initial build date. Of course, my participation...
  16. Anyone considered changing modem from 4g LTE to 5g?

For those of us who expect to keep our Broncos for a very long time, not being able to upgrade the modem could be a significant concern. I believe that 3G is already in the process of being phased out, and soon, any device that depends on it will become inoperative. How long will 4G continue...
  17. Official Debut: Everglades Bronco: Specs, Video, Photos, Pricing, Availability

I hope that's not to become any kind of new normal. Every other Bronco, except the few highest-level versions, gives us a choice between the 2.3-liter four-cylinder or the 2.7-liter V6. The Wildtrak, First Edition, Raptor, and DR don't give us a choice, but the one engine offered is a...
  18. Ideas about travelling in groups…

It just now occurred to me to wonder about this. In its base meaning, a bronco is a kind of a horse. On doing a bit of Googling, it turns out that there are several different collective terms for groups of horses, many having to do with who owns them and for what purpose. But “herd” seems...
  19. What are you using your comms radios for, and what do you have? (VHF, GMRS, FRS etc..)

I've been wondering about some similar things. I'm not so much likely to be into two-way radioing for its own sake, but in connection with some thoughts that I have had about possible group trips, it seems like some form of two-way radio communication between participants in such trips is...
