  1. Tips for wired CarPlay

Carplay + Ford Sync is a horrible combination. I haven't have any problems with the connection. The UI is crap- it's like using a Palm Pilot. Both should be updated to run like modern equipment.
  2. Comments you received about your Bronco

The only comment I received lately is from the Ford dealer, telling me it will be another week to fix the tranny.
  3. Do-overs?

Blue vs White? Blue. Walking the dog today, I passed a parking lot that had 12 vehicles. 7 were white, 3 were some sort of gray. Only two had color. White Broncos look good. Blue looks better. And everyone knows Red is faster.
  4. November 2025 Bronco Sales & Production Figures: 11,045 Sold / 13,966 Produced

There is- make more trucks. In '24 there were only 3 cars in the top ten domestic sales list. Camry, Accord and Tesla. Americans have a lot of stuff. Big stuff, apparently. And need large vehicles to haul all of it.
  5. November 2025 Bronco Sales & Production Figures: 11,045 Sold / 13,966 Produced

Interesting that they only make one car. Everything else is SUVs and trucks.
  6. How rare is my Bronco

Rarity does not always equal value, especially in automobiles. They are a horrible investment. Some model's value can keep up with inflation but few ever increase in value. Could that truck double or triple in value someday? Maybe. Should you put it on blocks, waiting for the hoped for...
  7. 2025 Heritage 2.7 Issue List Growing..

As much as we like our Broncos, Ford is not known as a quality manufacturer, regularly falling in the middle of the pack by most metrics. The volume sold may explain some of that but Toyota sells about the same amount in the US per year (2 million-ish) and does not have the same quality issues...
  8. One Week Later...

I bought my '23 Black Diamond a week ago. Thought I'd share my thoughts as a new Bronco owner. I picked it up on a Monday night so the next Tuesday was the first chance I had to feel it out. Fortunately, I had a job about an hour north of Denver so there was plenty of flat, straight highway...
  9. New tires

  10. New tires

Absolutely. I don't know if there's any way to prove it empirically but anecdotally, my years of a mechanic and parts guy will attest that most people don't even know how to put air in their tires let alone read a tire gauge. Most reputable sources, and the Internet, cite two major reasons...
  11. New tires

My post was solely in response to those that claim a mileage loss due to increased weight. There are many other factors that have a larger influence on mileage, including tire size, tread design and pressures. I disagree with your statement about pressures. Most people do not adjust the tire's...
  12. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Thanks for the quick reply. The noise on this one was pretty clear in 1st and 2nd, even warm, so I’m sure Ford will hear it. Good to know the updated parts are doing their job and that the repair works. I’m planning to pick it up, drive to Ford, and let them sort it under the TSB. Appreciate...
  13. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I was planning on buying one today. I had never heard of this issue before. A '23 Black Diamond with 40k miles. I got in and heard it right away. A grinding noise in 1st and 2nd, clutch in or out, goes away in any other gear. I drove around in a school parking lot for 10 minutes, trying to...
  14. New tires

There are a LOT of variables that can affect mileage. PSI, different tread patterns creating different resistance, different fuel blends, different driving styles with new tires, even speedometer error if the sizes have been changed. My point is that weight is pretty far down the list. The...
  15. New tires

I disagree and the math proves it. Most guys complaining of loss of MPG due to heavier tires do not have the pressure adjusted correctly. Here's why- Two tires, same diameter (32"), same tread, same size — only difference is weight. One is 50 lbs, the other is 65 lbs. 32" diameter is r = 0.4064...
  16. New tires

I used to work in the parts departments for several Dodge dealers. When tire would arrive, I'd poke the sidewalls to see how well constructed they are. Wranglers made me laugh. They are incredibly soft and pliable. BFGs are very stiff. Soft sidewalls in 70 and 75 series tires make the truck feel...
  17. Moab Trip -- looking for info on trail info

Charles A Wells' books are excellent trail guides. They aren't going to give you current conditions, obviously, but are a great resource.
