Those monster tires are soaking up the driveline power. The engine is producing, but it’s got an uphill battle through that setup.
a built eco6 would be way less.
it’s about time for ford to just give us what we want and build a twin turbo v8 raptor r at the factory.
Well stated. The infrastructure not only isn't there, but it's incredibly weaponized and manipulated to no end. It's OK to have an EV and hybrid OPTION. But in no way is it a legit "replacement" for ICE-only.
Agreed.
Hybrids add capability, but they also add COST and COMPLEXITY.
Just give us the V8 (turbo and twin turbo V8 option would be great too) we actually really really want and make some money. Sheesh.
This looks amazing.
But we shouldn’t have to pay such crazy money just to have a v8 in a vehicle Thsys begging for it.
Ford should just release the 5.0 Bronco in multiple models already.
Huh. Looks like a backward step.
Just clear out the room and that’s the “design?”
the exterior is pretty mid. Kinda not happy with this.
going all-in on classical (as opposed to evolving modern takes on MCM) mid century motif furniture when that trend is more than halfway through its lifecycle...
I’ve been curious about the hard tops.
would be interested to see the breakdown between painted and unpainted hard tops experiencing cracks, etc. over time.
my theory is that the composite plastic they’re made out of gets brittle from the sun over time. The painted ones still experience heat...
while better paint than the tester, it does look an awful lot like a cheap fleet vehicle more than anything to be enthusiastic about unfortunately.
Look like an older dodge Durango with an exploereesque face.
I’d love to see a bit more f150 raptor in the design language. But more refined...
agreed on your points. Unfortunately, youre probably right. I’ve posted elsewhere that I’m scared to death of taking to the trail with the expenditure. But I like having the capability. Used to go crazy with a built 1966 truck all over the mountainsides where I lived. The truck took it well. But...
I said ehst it was already. Twice.
a 2.7 liter eco 6 does not outperform the v8. In tje mustang, it makes 486-500 hp.
but I’m not talking NA. THE 6 has turbo’d. I’m saying do the same thing with the v8.
we don’t want or need the massive weight gain nor the complexity, not the ridiculousness...
whst are you rven talking about?
we want an ecoboost 5.0 for the same reason tje v6 got turbo’d - more power AND efficiency.
It’s not some mystery only rocket science can solve. It’s the simplest thing.
heck, the truck Raptor gets the GT500 engine. At the least, we should have something...
Agreed. But that's what the boardroom wants, not the customers. It will seem like an easy win for the OEMs... until one of the big three decides to break from the agreement and compete based on a return to sanity. Then whichever company that is will be eating the other two's customers bases for...
the problem with that is that it starts small. Then next round it becomes something more important. That’s when they lose customets altogether. Hopefully it never goes beyond this.
Dang. That’s awesome! I’d be way too worried about messing up the Bronco. Thanks for sharing with us. 9+ hours of off roading takes donr crazy dedication.
Um… looks like they’re trying to ape Apple CarPlay?
How about…just give us the full Apple CarPlay and call it good? It’s way better than what Ford is doing and is what we know and love already.
who’s going to do infotainment software better…Apple or Ford… I know who I’d bet on.
