Finally a kindred spirit! I’ve been searing the exact same thing. Wheeling in CO, I’ve noticed the my Badlands non-SAS does absolutely everything the SAS Broncos do. The increase in up travel more than makes up for the tire size. I scrape just a little bit more than the SAS Broncos to and...
I bought the mod bumper used off another person who upgraded to a aftermarket bumper. That particular aftermarket bumper didn’t use any factory brackets so I got everything I needed. But these bumpers literally use three bolts at the end of each frame rail to bolt them on. Pretty simple.
When the pumps go, you can get the motor to fire by spraying starting fluid in the intake. Not a solution but shows that the Bronco likely isn’t DOA when it throws that code.
I drove past a pretty modded Jeep a few weeks ago that looked like they were headed back from a wheeling trip. No doors, Bimini top. Driver and passenger were rocking race headsets so they could actually talk to each other and hear the radio.
I did this last weekend. The capable bumper wiring harness is a little tight on the modular bumper but it fits. Pop the plastic off around the tow hooks, remove the three bolts on each hook and the bumper comes right off. No way it’s an 8 hour deal….
I kept the capable hooks on the modular...
@Tricky Dick @Sven i haven’t had a chance to use mine but for the heck of it, I went out and jumped up and down on them, specifically the outside of the step. I noticed some flex at the body. Curious if either of you are seeing this. It’s not much, but I noticed it.
This is the third Bronco I’ve owned. I’ve been glued to the concepts since they first started flashing them around this purchase was because I love the Bronco platform and everything it has meant to me in my life.
Another vote for non-SAS Badlands. I wheel with a lot of SAS’ed Broncos in CO. I admit, I’ve got SAS envy but, in the end, mine gets everywhere the SAS’ed Broncos do. Maybe a bit more in line choice.
I admit, I do have 35’s planned in the future but I’d like to keep a low COG lift/no lift...
You sir are a lucky one. I waited over a month to get mine with zero feedback from LOD. Did you have to notch it to clear the Sta-Bar hose? I had to with mine.
Thanks for that. The angle grinder did fine on the skid plate I have now.
However if you wanted to raffle off a skid and donate the money to Stay the Trail or some Offroad organization, that would be cool.
I can’t really comment on that trail but there’s not a lot of activity on this forum but the Colorado Bronco Owners facebook group is pretty darn active and would likely get a response quick there.
