A blanket slipped into my rear tailgate latch and broke the plastic latching mechanism. I am removing the latch assembly and have only the rear mounting clip to go. Anybody been into this already or have the procedure? I don’t want to break a clip so close to being back on the road.
I do have the driving/combo lenses installed. I also put a set of squadron R SAE into the bumper, which does a great job of filling in the lows (and even the highs), but without blinding oncoming traffic. These XLs are crazy bright! I usually go with cheap LED lights, because they were always...
I whipped out a comparison video to show the increase in light from the BD pillar lights on my 21 FE. Video shows up a bit darker than the human eye, but the comparison is there.
At 14k miles, I have very slight wear in the center portion of the tread. I have had my factory Goodyear 35" tires at 35 psi cold since new after noticing so many with worn tread centers from running too hight of pressure. After 5k miles (and 2 rotations) I lowered my pressure to 32 cold. Tires...
That 131k recovery rope wouldn't be very "kinetic" when using your 6,000 vehicle. It would feel like a regular strap. I have one, and played with it with some full-size trucks. Felt like a regular strap since we couldn't stretch it! :). Definitely use the manufacturers recommendations. I use a...
I really like to have all the angles just so. There were many hours of reconfiguring things to make the angles correct to me. It was definitely worth it in the end. This bumper is certainly north of $2k to reproduce. Things like the access panels on the bottom of the bumper and such really...
It is definitely a labor of love with these prices. My brother would build a couple more, but these cheaper, thinner, pressed-plate bumpers are hard to compete with. I just didn’t want to see myself coming and going all the time!
I can lift it myself. That was the end of the goal. :). It is mostly 1/4”. I do lots of vehicle recoveries, so the recovery points have to be up to snuff, plus I am going to have flat-tow capability.
I installed these highway-legal driving lights into my custom bumper and tested them out tonight. This is with the low-beams on, but they show up nicely with the high-beams as well.
My brother and I just completed the front bumper for my Bronco today. I just need to wire up the winch so I can replace the cable with my synthetic line. I put in some BD Squadron SAE running lights and wired them up through the foglight button on my headlight switch. Parking sensors, adaptive...
My vote is to do both, but agreed that it will be busy at EJS. Best plan is to see what the posted Jeep trails for the day are and do other trails! I will be there April 15-17 and at the Off-Roadeo with friends on Saturday the 16th. I will be bringing both my 1st and 6th Gen over for Bronco...
