Went with the drawtite, I will tow a boat and didn’t feel comfortable with an extension and don’t need a drop for towing height. Side view a little awkward, straight on from behind looks normal. I think it will depend on you. Long torque wrench, no issues.
Did a reset followed your lead and agree- Big difference! Had to read the instructions to figure out what a gain setting is. The amp was set all the way down on mine from the factory. Thanks for your post.
Look at the instructions before you buy. I bought and then returned and went with a curt from trailers.com. The only thing extra you may want is a heat shield insulators for the wiring as you are close to the muffler. That is included in the Ford kit.
I ran direct to battery with an inline fuse so I didn’t. I had the fuse out until totally finished installing and running wires and hooked to battery.
Now, gotta work on the dsp auto adjustments. I need to redo with all gains (which I guess is bass/treble down).
I received everything this week. I have your old style power adapter harness so I'll buy some wire and get that going. I was watching the install video you produced, any chance of getting the pdf version of the steps for installation that were used in the video?
Where did you mount your amp and where did you access the firewall at to run to the battery ? I just received everything and this is my weekend project.
I had a similar rewrite auto correct when adding Baja and Rock Crawl on my Big Bend, got the same answer. Later someone posted their codes and mine were identical. Seems Forscan knows what to do.
Just installed in a 2 door. Like others have commented, easy install with no top removal needed. A little tight around the back seatbealt mount. I did hear a clip or two break while snapping on the cover. I definitely hope I never need to pop off for any future changes. I used the kicker 6..5’s...
