Did the electric (?) Emergency Brake work? When I was a kid in the 60's bad brakes were not unusual in old cars and trucks, but the mechanical emergency brakes were bomb proof.
Agree on portable that can be kept young by storing in a plastic tub - I am the same on winches - put it on a receiver mount and add a front receiver or use chain on tow hooks, Nice to have first class long jump cables in stock. keep the weight between the axels.

I think that in the non-top-down season you could put the aluminum bubble wrap 1/4-inch insulation sold at Lowes etc. in rolls, above the shade and below the top, be it soft or hard. Good for sound, great for temperature - easy to roll-up again on nice day.
