Those are pre-wired into the engine compartment by where the aux wires are. They are not connected to anything.

I believe main issue is transmit wattage. As of a 5 or so years ago FRS is supposed to be 2w max on certain channels shared with GMRS and these things are typically 5w out of the box. You can change transmit wattage on most if you care to follow the rules on FRS. GMRS ‘requires’ a license more...

There is something wrong with my badsquatch then with all these MPG stories. I drive very conservative, probably floored it 4 times since I have had it. Almost always drive on eco with 93 octane and no where near 17mpg.
