Thanks for the helpful advice, but...
WAY too big to go some of the places I explore. My 4 door jeep even had trouble navigating some of the switchback mining roads I've traveled to the point you can't turn the corners and have to back up every other switch back, hence the 2 door Bronco.
I did look at a few of those. It looks like I'd be hitting the tail light or side of the vehicle with a tank mounted there though and possibly obscuring the tail light.
It is an option on my mind.
It really is like going down the rabbit hole with these vehicles. You add something and have to add supports and racks and upgrades to things that double or triple the price of the original item! 😂
Nice rig though. I'll keep that option in mind. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet...
Could use some help/ideas for propane mounting locations on a 2 door preferably, but if you have a 4 door where the mounting location would work for me, all ideas welcome, whether or not you carry one.
I plan on a 5 lb tank in aluminum, and already have the tank cage picked out (i think) ...
Currently have a Trailrack. It'll hold the weight for sure. I've had lots more weight up there.
I was wondering why your rig was squatting so much, then I saw the trailer hitch. 😅
No hate on the Toyota. I wish I'd kept my 2013 FJ years ago. Loved that truck but got rid of it for different reasons.
Just "Bronco"... you know, kinda like discussing Saturday night in church on Sunday! 😂
I have the Trailrax with the side mounts that attach to the body below the hard top as well as the mic roof. It's pretty solid. 800 lb static and 300 lb dynamic load rating.
I've had lots more weight up there than the tent, so I should be good weight and stability wise.
Offlroading with it...
Same boat here. It has the largest sleeping area for the least amount of overhang. My trailrax is just a hair under 48" wide and this tent is 50" wide (1" overhang on the side) with a 52" wide x 72" long sleeping area.
It's a bit tall at 11.25", but in all honesty, my air carrier is 20" tall...
I put a post out earlier on a new model RTT from Freespirit recreation and didn't get much feedback.....but..
I think I've just purchased my first one for the Mini Bronco overlander build.
It's the latest from Freespirit, the Kali (small version) hard top RTT. There isn't alot out there on...
Love to hear some feedback from the group on this RTT.
Looks like, although on the heavy and tall side, it would be ideal for the space I have on my 2 door Trailrax. The way it opens would also allow me to put an awning on the driver's side close to the tent without it interfering. It seems to...
Do you think the 12 volt aux port in the back won't be enough to keep the Delta topped up? I'm testing the system at home right now, it seems the Dometic only draws 8 watts average once it reaches temp and the alternator puts out 100 watts when driving.
I thought about getting that alternator...
I have taken them off just to test how easy is was but have not needed to since install. They are VERY flexible, but i don't plan on doing any serious rock crawling with my rig. There is a bit of a fitment issue in the front two which they suggest removing the plastic wheel well liner retainer...
I'm hoping this will be the perfect pairing for the start of my mini 2 door overlander.
Ecoflow Delta 3 plus, Dometic cfx5 35 fridge, and Renogy 400 watt solar blanket.
I think it all depends on the type of lighting and driving you intend to do. The projector headlights I've used, even non DOT ones, don't hold a candle to the factory buckets my Bronco came with.
You are correct, in the fact the high beams don't seem to increase the light, even on mine. In an...
I don't own a Raptor, or even a high end regular Bronco, but the headlights on my base model Big Bend sas 2024 2 door are VERY good. Probably the best I've had in terms of legal lighting goes. They cast light in all the right places and are especially good offroad with a wide long throw, and...
I had the same thought about opening the hood, except, I'd like to have a master switch in the cab so the ARB switch wouldn't work in the case someone besides me was under the hood during a service or dealer visit and turned on the compressor accidentally.
On the other hand, I'd hate to take up...
