Highly unlikely any cop pulling you for this anywhere or even noticing it at all, but... I just though it was worth mentioning it. First off because I know about this issue from another vehicle that I have and I find it fascinatingly stupid to have a law like that. Second I feel like a lot of...
Probably true, but you will be surprised. That's why I love this country. Usually the stuff that should be illegal is actually legal and the stuff that should be common sense and legal... is not. :)
I just want to point it out, because it's pretty obvious seller is either oblivious to it or not...
Almost the entire world uses convex mirrors in vehicles. Due to yet another stupid law the US is still falling behind. LH mirrors in the US are mandated to be flat. Manufacturers have to follow the law. These aftermarket companies do not. Problem is when a cop decides to be a jerk... You will be...
Be aware the driver side convex mirrors are illegal in the US. There is a reason why factory RH mirror is convex and has the "objects in the mirror bla, bla" thing. Every state differentiates probably a little, but manufacturers are mandated to use flat mirrors on the LH. It's a federal law...
Question. Well couple of questions.
Did you guys also install the sway bar?
Will a sway bar diminish offroad performance?
I know it will diminish on road performance if not installed, but will it be to the point of dangerous? I would assume they have it for a reason.
Stock Big bend with SAS...
I have Cooper AT3 XLT and a stock Big Bend. I went with sasquatch wheels and tires.
I'm going to revive this one, because this is why I never liked aftermarket stuff or I should say non original to the car. I have also never had an ancient vehicle like this with a solid rear axle, body on...
Standard clutch on a 4x4 vehicle. If you find a willing dealer with a brand new one(not with even 900 miles), while I wouldn't bet my life on it... I'm pretty sure I can burn it in a matter of minutes. :)
I didn't see them, but I guessed close enough. It's a manual transmission with a clutch. Not much has changed about the design of those or across cars, SUVs or even semis.
I would stand corrected may be on a high performance mid-engine or rear engine vehicle, but... even then I don't see it as...
I keep searching, but simply can not find where you get these prices.
In no world 10+ hours is a clutch replacement. :)
Again... REALISTICALLY about $2000. He made a mistake... pay up and move on with your life. :)
Because it wasn't "just driven around"...
You need to keep in mind your stated vehicles are somewhat design for abuse. The Bronco has a low range and a crawler gear. Never meant for clutch abuse or at least for as low as possible clutch abuse.
I thought most discussions like these are isolated to random toilet chats only on FB. 😂
But if you insist...
My question was pretty straight forward, the sarcasm should have been pretty obvious also. :)
Your smarty pants comment was basically stating the obvious also that you have no clue...
No. I see burned up, fallen apart clutches almost on a daily basis. This is a classic case of overheated clutch- burned flywheel, pressure plate and a clutch that is falling apart. How and why it happened is irrelevant. What is, is that the owner, or I should say operator ignored all signs of...
I would deny your warranty also. :)
Regardless of what failed, in my opinion, for that clutch to be that destroyed it was slipping for quite a while. Just the fact that you probably ignored the smell and slipping would be a good basis for denial. I see clutches like that on semis on a daily...
I think you are confused. Pressing the clutch in does stop the noise, because the input shaft is disconnected and the trans stops moving. You are probably thinking neutral and you still have noise. That's because even in neutral the input shaft is spinning and you still get the grinding.
It's a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder with a single turbo, big radiator with 2 big cooling fans and massive amounts of space around it for air flow and heat dissipation.
In the Midwest I would only see over 210F oil temp at 90MPH hwy speeds or over 90F ambient temps while off-roading.
The V6 might be a...
Cleaning up whatever has started would be very hard and costly and being a 22 it's probably still not that bad. Hose it down. Clean up any loose stuff and apply Fluid film, Woolwax or something similar. Like mentioned do this every year or every other year. I've heard NY is bad... vary bad...
