255/85r16s are my flavor of 33(ish)s for the steelies. I would imagine they will fit. Purely speculation though. If you get an auto trans with the 3.73s, it might not be the best combo with a tire that tall.

Slipping and “abrupt and harsh” shifting are two different things though.

FWIW I was in a similar position. I made my decision and ordered a 4 door base Sasquatch. Just a tad over $40k.
