I feel like I just saw a UFO.
I live in a quiet inland suburb of San Diego that is usually about as exciting as a freshly cut lawn.
On my way to grab some gourmet treats this afternoon (Ok, it was Taco Bell) heading down the opposite side of the street I saw the familiar front grill of a...
Hi All,
Here are my thoughts on the BD and OBX from the event at KMF yesterday:
Cactus Gray was amazing. I'm changing my order to CG now (again).
The engine bays don't look that crazy in person. Both seemed to have plenty of room in there to work, and add some accessories if needed.
Also...
I am looking to sell or trade my BB wheels/tires, I have an early 7/13 reservation and order and no long-lead time items in my build. Expecting mid-summer delivery.
If anyone is interested let me know - if you are getting a Base and want a cheap/easy upgrade this would be perfect!
FYI, I had a chat with my dealer contact and he confirmed with the service director that they will not re-calibrate speedometers.
I ordered a base and intended to upgrade to aftermarket wheels and 33" tires, but was concerned that the speedo and trans shift points would be too far off.
I've...
Anyone know if Ford dealers can/will do speedo recalibration?
I'm getting a base, but upgrading to 32-33" tires immediately and want the speedo re-calibrated.
I've looked at tools from Rough Country/Hypertech/etc. for the Ranger but they all say they can't be used in CA.
Is this because they...
Anyone have info about this wheel kit listed in the Bronco accessory guide?
Curious about the size, width, and offset for these.
Lots of Ford parts sites online have them listed but no description.
Seems like they can be had for under $1000 for a set of five, so not a bad price if they are...
FYI, I reached out to Method to ask if they were going to make some new wheels with higher offsets that would be good for the Bronco.
They told me they have the following models launching this June/July:
MR501, 17x8, +38
MR502, 17x8, +42
MR314, 17x7.5, +30
MR701, 17x7.5, +30
Looks like some...
EDIT - changed my order to a Big Bend, probably keeping the grille.
--------------------------------------
If anyone in SoCal is looking for a Base grill and wants to swap out let me know. Most interested in a Big Bend, but will consider others.
I am ready to order my Bronco (got notified from my dealer yesterday) but have a tire question.
I'm ordering a Base 4dr and plan to do a tire/wheel upgrade soon after delivery.
One idea I had was to just have my dealer install some larger (thinking 265/75 R16) tires on the stock rims (I believe...
While I love the fact that you can remove the panels from both the first and second rows with the 4dr hard-top, it's also a concern leaving home without the 2nd row panel. What happens if you want to park on the street later in the day? If it rains? People get cold/hot/etc.? The front panels can...
I sincerely hope we can finally see an actual real-life 4dr Base model when the next batch of vehicles is getting made this week.
So far it's been the unseen unicorn, nothing but renders.
Even with the lame price increase, it's still a great deal and I plan to just go Base and upgrade to a...
Now that we know the offset for stock wheels is +55mm, other than clearing the fenders is there any issue going to a wheel with 0mm offset?
Looking at aftermarket wheels, they are almost all 0mm offset.
I know this will push the wheels/tires out about 2" on each side, which I think will look...
I'm getting the base 4dr with the 2.3L/AT (most likely) but was wondering if a lower rear ratio will be necessary to go up to 33" tires.
Stock is the open diff 3.73.
I'm not asking if it would be better to do it, more along the lines of is it necessary and approximately what's the cost.
I'm...
One of my biggest concerns with the hard-top is that to actually use the 2nd row removable panel you have to leave it at home.
What happens when you want to close up while out? What if the weather turns? What if the people in the back seat just get tired of it being open and want to have it back...
While on the B&P site I decided to chat with the ford rep and asked a couple questions about the AT being standard on the base, and also the AT coming standard with the mid package on the BB.
This was their reply:
"Thank you for your interest in the Bronco. We are still in the preview mode...
OK Ford, what the hell...these are clearly two different colors.
Which one is right?
I love the one on the Bronco Sport, and hate it on the Bronco.
But I KNOW they are the same color in reality.
So not one shred of info about the soft-top in B&P.
Is it too much to ask what the material is, how the back opens, and how the panels are removed?
OK, maybe that's a lot for B&P but still want to know if the soft-top is sailcloth or twill. Or something else altogether.
So there have been some pics/vids of the pre-production soft-top now.
Any experts out there weigh in on the material?
To me it looks more like the premium twill material Jeep uses rather than the cheaper sailcloth.
This, and the color(s) available will be a big factor in my decision of...
I know this might sound like a nitpick - but one of the reasons I won't buy the 2dr is that I know people will feel trapped in the back seat with no door or window to open.
I do expect to have a couple people in the back seat somewhat regularly (although it's my teenage kids so not that...
