The assembler installs the part. Not all the 2.3 motors of that type have issues, just 1700 of them.

Engineers? The recall states incorrect installation. Seems to me we are at the assembly level where the mistake occurred.

The staff at Ford must still be suffering from the effects of Henry’s “ you can have any color you like as long as it is black” quote. Of course things are loosening up a bit because now instead of black it is gray.

I bought an entire two door top with front panel bags and sound deadening for $500. It is my “ spare” in case the original starts to fail.

You do understand the tops are made by an outside contractor. Your point should be afore should find a different roof contractor to finally put an end to the roof debacle.

I won’t be getting a spare cover however if I did I would have a custom cover that had an image of the spare tire it was covering as the design.
