When people first see the Broaddict Overhead MOLLE Panel System, most attention goes to the storage, lighting, and charging.
But there’s another part of the design that deserves a closer look:
the structure underneath it.
It Ties Into the Bronco’s Existing Upper Structure
The system isn’t simply suspended from plastic trim or attached to a few isolated roof points.
Its support structure connects through the B-pillars and the Bronco’s factory roll-bar crossmember, creating a rigid overhead assembly across the cabin.
The factory B-pillar structural brace also remains in place during installation. Only the plastic trim covers are removed.
In other words, the system is designed to work with the Bronco’s existing upper structure—not replace it.
Professional B-Pillar Support Testing Is Underway
We are currently conducting professional pull testing on the B-pillar support structure to further evaluate its structural strength and resistance to deformation.
The testing is still in progress, and the formal report has not yet been issued.
Once the testing is complete and the report is finalized, we’ll share the confirmed results with the Bronco6G community.
We’d rather wait for verified data than turn an unfinished test into a finished marketing claim.
The MOLLE panel itself is rated for 55 lbs of evenly distributed cargo. The panel load rating and the B-pillar structural pull test are two different measurements and should not be treated as the same thing.
Gravity already has enough responsibilities without creative math.
Does This Mean It’s a Roll Cage Upgrade?
No—and we want to be clear about that.
The system is not a certified roll cage, rollover-protection system, or replacement for Ford’s factory safety structure.
What it does provide is an additional rigid structure connected around the B-pillars and factory roll-bar crossmember, helping create a more stable platform for the overhead panel and rear grab handle.
That distinction matters.
We’d rather describe exactly what the system is designed to do—and wait for the testing to tell us the rest.
Why We Designed It This Way
On rough trails, anything mounted overhead needs to stay stable.
The reinforced support structure is designed to provide a solid foundation for the overhead panel, securely mounted gear, and rear grab handle while helping reduce unnecessary movement and vibration when properly installed.
The idea isn’t to turn the Bronco cabin into a competition roll cage.
It’s to make the overhead system feel like it belongs to the Bronco rather than something simply hanging from it.
