Maybe I like industrial generators.
My Manual 2 door BaseSquatch accelerates on on-ramps quite quickly. Anything faster wouldn't really be necessary, I think.

Do you have the internal speaker sound turned off? they are piping v8 sound in the speakers really low....
Thanks, yes, just dove into it. Bad me. I turned off the fake sound in my wife's I4 M50 Beemer the day she got it cuz I hate fake sht. I love the 2.7 push, but Ford got me on the sound. I wouldn't hold it against them but not offering a system toggle to turn it off is ridiculous. I'm sure there are threads about this I missed. Cheers.

I also have a Forester (2022) and it's fun but agreed it is slow. My 2.3 Bronco is much quicker. MT even quicker. Still, I've never been in a situation with the Forester where I felt I was in danger due to lack of acceleration.I try not to stress my Forester full throttle unless it is really an emergency cause I am the one who has to pay the repair bill.But it is very slow to accelerate and it can be a great source of anxiety in those dire moments when I need to put some distance between me and danger in a hurry. I have not driven the Bronco yet. Was just looking for wisdom from experienced users.
The Bronco with the auto transmission on the other hand... The ECU programming is poop. I've been in traffic, wanted to change lanes and mashing the pedal to the floor results in a 2 - 3 second delay. And I mean an actual 2 -3 second delay, before the ECU decides what to do with the throttle and transmission, and then it takes off like a rabbit. It's bad enough that I filed a complaint with the NHTSA. Sorry for the tangent, but it seems relevant if you're considering safety in traffic.

Funny story. I own a '69 Mustang Mach I big-block 428 Cobra Jet, 4-speed, 3.91 gears. I was at a stoplight last summer where two lanes merge.to one after 1/4 mile. Up rolls a Honda Odyssey with a high-school kid driving. He surprises me by jumping on it at the green light and sprints away from me, so I decide this ain't gonna happen, so wake up and pass him with a bit to spare before the merge. Whew! My wife drives a Honda Passport with the same 3.5L V6 and it is strong.

While modern cars are faster on average (especially due to so many with turbos and superchargers) than cars of the muscle-car era, you are discounting top muscle cars too much. Times from that era like you quoted were hamstrung due to the crap tires of that day. I have modern performance tires on my Mach that improve its traction and ETs significantly vs test times for 1969-70. It is a quick car even by today's standards but today's performance cars are insanely fast Now your '69 Camaro SS396, yeah, that's a turd.

Nothing hurt my feelings like getting in the family “classic” muscle car (it is a 86 Camaro Z28 with a 305…..) and getting roasted by the average city slicker and his v6 accord. Sure sounds great though!
