Sounds like either will be good.

Now I have to measure my built in 1935 really narrow single car garage, to see if I will be able to open the driver door in the 2dr Bronco far enough to actually get in and out.

Oof. Yeah, good luck. It is a long door. Hopefully you're skinny!

Of course, you could always crawl out the back... lol

I had a 2.3 dr SAS and now have a 26 4 dr badlands no SAS 2.7. Seat of the pants the 2.7 is a little quicker. The 2.7 is smoother accelerating for sure. Neither are quick.

If there's room enough for the fenders to get through of a Sas to fit through the opening, there should be enough to get out. Despite the wheel width, the body itself isn't huge.

2 door is still alot slow than 4 door with a 2.7.. My wife had a 4 banger in her 4 door.We got rid of it for a 2.7 ..Plus it not just slow the 2.7 responce for any speed is so different..

Definitely should teat drive both. Be sure to have the specific config you want. I test drove a 2-door 2.3L 7MT Big Bend and acceleration was adequate for me. Then I test drove a 2-door 2.3L 7MT Badlands (my target config) and it was noticeably slower off the line due to bigger tires and added weight. I then drive a 2-door 2.7L auto and bought that.

The 2.3L was fine in both once up in the rev range but was a real dog below 3k RPM in the Badlands. The FP tune may solve that. For accelerating on freeway ramps, you'd likely be fine with the 2.3L because you can keep it in high RPMs.

If you're worried about gaps in traffic, a 5000 top heavy SUV isn't going to help.

My old 2.7 4dr was able to get passed a newer Infinity sedan on a ramp, but I don't drive like that typically. My 2dr I only drive with any speed by myself, and usually its not on paved roads. I dont trust people around me lol.

Interesting reference. My daily driver is an Infiniti sedan (G37xS) and my 2-door 2.7L Bronco cannot keep up with it.

The percentage of people who do not mash the pedal yet complain of their acceleration is about 190%.

It's why I asked what vehicle op has now and if he drove it or just took a ride behind the steering wheel.

I try not to stress my Forester full throttle unless it is really an emergency cause I am the one who has to pay the repair bill. 😂 But it is very slow to accelerate and it can be a great source of anxiety in those dire moments when I need to put some distance between me and danger in a hurry. I have not driven the Bronco yet. Was just looking for wisdom from experienced users.

Darn. Lighter weight gives you a quicker yaw response, so the 2-door definitely feels sportier. Shorter wheelbase makes it easier to handle as well.

Practicality favors the 4-door of course.

Google says the 4-door with 2.7 is half a second faster than 2-door with 2.3. I would still pick the two door for quicker yaw response and sporty feel. Zero-to-60 time is not the most important attribute.
