Simple hard top removal question……

Well damn...I wasn't aware there were two upper bolts to undo...That would certainly explain why I couldn't get mine off. Those brackets are definitely bent then, because I gave it a few tries thinking it was just the gasket release and weight I was fighting.

There are indeed. I have converted mine with tool-less knurled thumbscrew bolts (see pic). They're the generic e-bay version as the bolts needed to be cut shorter to work and wanted cheap to make sure they worked. Rockworkx makes the original version and I have theirs holding down the rest of the top.

I soloed my 2 door hard top. It weights more than the 4 door top.
With some common senses you can do it yourself but two guys will definitely get it done.

I used to raw-dog the rear part of my 4dr hard top, and I'd just place it on the grass and crawl out from underneath it lol. It was tewrrible. Now I have the EZ4x4 middle panel holder roof rack and with the rack and the middle panel on top it's too heavy for me. Finally the EZ4x4 roof lift went on sale for preorder when they ran out of stock so I got it for 50% off plus an extra 15% off or something with another promo code. So instead of like $1,000 it ended up being $425 or so. Honestly it doesn't roll super well on my loose gravel driveway but it's fantastic for lifting the top in place. I lift it and then drive out from under it and then lower the lift all the way down so it's not as easy to tip. Definitely a game changer and makes me want to take my top off way more often.

Did you add the carbon fiber textured wrap there? How'd you go about it if so?

My 24 BLS has two on each side on the top, but the hand tightening screws are nice. I wonder when they changed it to 2 on each side.

It's a sticker but fairly thick. It holds up reasonably well. I'll see if I can remember where I got them and post it up here. They're pre-cut too so installation is easy.
