I ran a generic version of a Power Tank on my 73 Bronco for years (won it in a raffle). Then switched to a fender mounted Viair compressor my brother gave me after he totaled his truckI've been eyeing the powertanks but goddamn it I've already spent so much time and money on the compressor and the tank takes up so much storage space.
The issue with power tanks is that once they are empty you are done. So was carrying a compressor as a back up any ways. Where I lived my only option for filling the tank was to exchange it. So before each trip I had to weigh the cost of exchanging a partially full tank against the odds of running out on the trail.
The advent of cordless tools has removed the ability to run air tools from the power tank as an advantage.
