Has anyone else had a fitting issue between the front and rear door gaps? During extreme heat probably caused by the metal expanding. The rear door edge is rubbing the front door edge when opening. It's only happening during the summer heat. The dealer does not know if it is possibly a metal stamping issue from the factory.
Obviously, I know the doors can be removed from the hinges, but does anyone know if the body-mounted hinges have any tolerance for adjustment? The gap on the right side of the vehicle is definitely tighter than the left side. I have attached a photo and a video of the door rubbing. It also appears the bottom portion of the rear door is bumped out slightly to the front door.
Thankfully, there is dealer installed PPF on the door edge that is protecting the paint from being rubbed. Thankfully, there is dealer-installed PPF on the door edge that is protecting the paint from being rubbed.
Note: it is not the PPF that is causing the doors to rub each other is the minimal gap between the doors. As I posted, the door gap is tighter on the right than on the left.
I appreciate your guidance if you have had this problem and how it was resolved, or from somebody who does bodywork and knows if there is an adjustment to the body mount hinges.
