I removed my rear cap for the second time, and noticed missing paint on the bolt holes and a spot about an inch away on both sides. I plan on touching up and then using PPF, probably on both the roll bar and the bracket. Anyone else experience this, and what’s your fix?

That's definitely something I'd want to address before it gets any worse. Touch-up paint followed by a small piece of PPF around the mounting points sounds like a solid preventative fix. I'm curious if this is caused by slight movement of the rear cap during installation or if the brackets are rubbing even when properly torqued. Hopefully others can chime in with whether they've seen the same wear and if Ford has a more permanent solution.

I have a 2026 base hardtop. Pulled mine off and there are rubber washers between the bolt holes and the surface of the back. Make sure they did not fall off of yours.
