I have a question for anyone who has (or have had) foot pegs on their Bronco for when the doors are off. I just installed a pair from DV8, and from reading their instructions, it seems like I should be able to tighten them down at a specific angle. The part of my door hinges that the peg screws into, however, still rotate no matter how tight I tighten the bolt. The entire assembly rotates. Because of this, the peg itself rotates, and I can’t use it in any position other than fully open. I feel as though I’m not describing exactly what’s happening that well, but I’m not sure how else to describe it.

I haven't messed with these on the Bronco, but I went through a few sets of these on my Jeep. Obviously verify this for yourself, but the good ones for Jeeps have a stop built in to the foot peg so that it only opens so far. Mine was even rubber coated so the stop didn't damage the paint or hinge.

I think this might be different with the Bronco but on the Jeep hinges you certainly did not want to crank down on that bolt unless you wanted to damage the hinge sleeve or the hinge itself.

Are you meaning you'd like the pegs to have a stopping point at certain angles vs. full open? Like 45-degrees, 70-degrees, etc.?

Yes, exactly. If they have to be fully open, that’s fine, I just wanted to confirm that’s how it’s supposed to be. The wording for the DV8 pegs include a bit about putting them at the desired angle and then tightening which made me wonder if I was supposed to be able to secure them at anywhere other than fully open.

I can tighten mine down to where they don't move. I don't have the DV8 just some cheap pair from ebay. That being said I do not tighten them that much. I keep them semi loose where I can close them with my hand but the wind doesnt move them at all.

If you look at the bottom hinge point (where the pegs mount), there’s the piece on top with the threads for the bolt, and a piece on the bottom that seems to be a very large (but thin) bolt head. The issue I’m having is, no matter how tight I crank down the screw on the peg, the entire assembly rotates if I put any pressure on the peg. I put my doors back on tonight, or I’d go out and try and take a quick video showing what I’m talking about. It seems like the type of thing where I need to put a wrench on the top part and one on the bottom and try and tighten the entire hinge mount down. The issue is the top part where the bolt goes into doesn’t have any way to grip it with a wrench with a bolt in it.

I found a photo online that might help me explain. I’ve circled the two parts I’m referring to. The top (black part) circled is round, so I can’t grab it with a wrench. The bottom part I circled is what moves no matter how tight I make the pegs. The peg screws into the top part, but the entire assembly (top and bottom circled parts) can rotate if I put any pressure on the peg. This makes it only possible to use it fully rotated outward.

I do, but I take that out before putting the pegs on. That’s just the best photo of that part of the hinge I could find. In your photo, I circled the two posts I’m talking about. Both parts rotate as one piece when the peg is installed, so it doesn’t matter how tight I tighten the peg.

I'm bumping this because I still haven't figured out whether the issue I'm seeing is an issue that I should bring up with a dealer while I'm still under warranty. Has anyone seen or heard of a similar issue?
