Certainly isn't a snapped tie rod. Bent, maybe but broken and it is undrivable.

Even though this wasn't the cause... this is EXACTLY the reason I'll never have a dealership pick up my Bronco for an oil change. You just never know what happens once it leaves you.

Went for a routine oil change, 60k maintenance, and the seat recall. Used the last of my maintenance plan.....As I was leaving the dealership, I immediately heard a 'knocking' noise coming from the front. As I made a turn, the noise got louder and a little stiff to maneuver. Felt as if something was getting caught on my tire. Made an immediate U-turn back to the dealership. Advisor drove my car to listen for the noise which was immediate.

When we came back, Advisor asked who did the oil change, before driving it to the service bay.
About 5 different people went over to the service bay.....45 minutes later, the Advisor came with keys to a Bronco Sport and took full responsibility. Said doesn't know how it happened but that the passenger front tie-rod snapped. They rush ordered parts and said they will take care of everything before apologizing.

I've carried an extra pair of tie-rods with my gear since I got my Bronco, just because of all the stories I've heard of them snapping on the trail. Thankfully, on all my rides, I've never had to use them or let someone else use them. Never did I think they would snap at the dealership! Glad it happened there as opposed to the trail.

Mistakes happen...Thankful the dealership took immediate accountability. Just wondering if they didn't position it on the lift correctly during the oil change, and forced all the weight on the tie-rod...
I call bull shit can't drive with broken tie rod
