Mabett Phone Mount Stress Test

When I first saw this on Facebook I thought there was no way it wouldn't bounce around and pull out of the dash or at least the phone would pop off.

For reference I bought their previous accessory rail and sent it back as the phone wobbled too much.

Turns out that little 1/4-20 in the dash is reasonably secure. While I wasn't going 80mph through the desert the roads were rough enough that I thought that it was going to be a disaster.

Looks like it's possible that first impressions can be wrong.
