The OEM square headlights on the YJ are sealed beam (and replacements are readily available). There are lots of aftermarket options to go with LEDs as well.

I got my little 1988 YJ just to toodle around in, so I can keep the miles off the (expensive) Bronco, and for the simplicity, ease of maintenance and the ability to run on cheaper gas. I love how it doesn't scream at me if my seat belts aren't fastened. It doesn't assume I'm an idiot that doesn't know how to drive.

Oh yeah those were the days. And Obama doesn't know where your vehicle is and every time you pass gas without rolling down the windows.

Exactly. And it's not that I don't like my Bronco (I love it!) but having driven for over 50 years - and am alert to these things - I want options. Clearly, lots of people are thinking the same way, and they are snapping up good examples of older short-wheelbase, inline, normally aspirated examples of the "genre". And yes - I can ease one off any time I want, because the top is down and I'm not on a network, running some AI-enabled app making a report to sniff(notify=TRUE).
