I think it was called four on the floor play.
:teehee:

some referred to it as ‘knee-ies’. And why no one wanted a short shifter…. (Throw or length)

and a missed shift was okay. (If you didn’t get an elbow)

Whenever I get in my wife's car I'm soooooo glad I opted out of ACC. I can't stand the way it slams on the brakes right before you're about to pass.
The next time you’re driving her car, adjust the ACC distance to the shortest follow setting. If that’s still not enough for your “about to pass” moments, just apply a little bit of acceleration and you’ll override ACC for your pass. ACC has become one of my “have to have” features.

I'm not entirely convinced that a potential wife being able to drive my vehicles is a good thing!
Exactly. To me that is a critical factor in a marriage agreement.

My first driving lesson was a 55 Chevy with a three on the tree in a big field! I don’t think I ever wiped that smile off my face! I enjoy the Bronco much to the MT. Just wouldn’t be as fun for me in an automatic, but that’s just me.
Same story here. I learned on a 1967 Ford Ranger pickup with a three-on-the-tree. I can detail every reason why a manual transmission is better in many (if not most) situations, but it doesn't matter: folks believe what they want to believe.
