I remember driving a JL manual and feeling like I was learning all over again... after nearly a decade driving stick, so its heart breaking to see that what could have been a future Florida business vehicle is off the table as I was a fan of Dirks thread and believed in it.

Oh well, at least the Bronco's 7spd is a gem in comparison, love my girl and glad I made the right choice
I have a 22 Bronco M/T and my wife has a 21 Wranhler M/T and the transmissions are night and day. I literally can’t drive hers without over revving. It’s like I’ve never driven a stick before!

Right?! I had an Mk1 Audi TT 225, 07 Audi A4, the Bronco, and the closest thing to feeling like a new jack was my GR86's stock clutch spring (Changed it and it became a normal spring, I swear whoever thought a race clutch spring for a daily driver was a good idea needs to be taken out back), plus test drove countless cars over the years, including a TJ (Which was surprisingly better).

Why does the JL's stock tranmission/clutch/whatever suck so much ass???

I've got no FHE with the Jeep JL manual but my first JK had the manual, which was one of the main reasons I punted it for my second JK with an auto. Worst manual trans I've ever owned.

I moved up from a 23 Gladiator for a Big Bend SAS with the 2.3. So far, I have better fuel economy and way more power than I had with the Jeep. I have a 3000 pound boat that I tow and the 2.3 has no issues towing it. It easily handles 6% grades with power to spare. I did have the 2.7 in a 25 Ranger and will have to admit that it was a rocket, until it was Lemon Lawed due to electrical and brake issues. I'm more than happy with the 2.3.
