I have a factory soft top for spring, summer, and fall. I also have a Turn Off-road hard top for winter and long trips.

Topless baby! Have a ST and HT. First time I went nothing for a whole season - looks best IMO. Pollen is crazy though. Will go doorless and topless once it warms up a little more.

Damn sorry. I’ve been in FL 6 years and have still not seen one WY plate. Top down or bikini top all year long
Lol, I was going to comment about the same as Telenerd. Definitely a southern coastal state influence on that decision. In SD to get anywhere I have to drive hours in any of the cardinal directions on I29 or I90 and there is nothing stopping the wind. The wind is almost always blowing head on or directly perpendicular to either side of my rig. Even with the hard top it's obnoxious. And that not even accounting for winter time with those conditions plus snow, ice, and cold.

Mesh top after May 1. Hard top back on right before Halloween.

With summer right around the corner, I’m really curious how everyone is setting up their Bronco for the season!

Especially on the big debate: Hardtop vs. Soft Top
1f9d0.png

What are you running right now?

It’s one of those decisions that really shapes how you experience the Bronco in summer: airflow, noise, and overall driving feel.

If you’ve made a switch before, I’d especially love to hear what changed your mind!

Drop a photo of your Bronco setup below!

Would be great to see how everyone is configured for the summer trail season. Let’s see those rigs!

So glad that when I ordered, they were having so much trouble with the hard top. I wanted the dual top option, figuring I'd just change them out twice a year. But no. Got the softtop. I'd never ever go back. Had no idea how much more enjoyable that is....yes, wind noise can be a drag, esp. in the rain on the big roads. Earplugs.
Same here. Moved from a 2dr to a 4dr Soft Top to avoid the delays and cracking issue. Love it year round, but I'm in Florida. Maybe I'd feel differently if I lived in Buffalo. It's loud on the interstate for sure but I knew that going in. By the way, while loud, my soft top does not leak a drop which was not the case with the Mustang and Sebring convertibles we've owned in the past.

Is that some sort of a soft top folded on the back of the 2-door? If so, who is the manufacturer?

I just swapped the HT for my ST 2 weeks ago. When I bought the truck it had the 2 top option and I thought I would never use the ST, I actually put it up for sale (thankfully it never sold). I enjoyed running without the roof panels so much I eventually decided to give the ST a chance and I loved it (I just wish the factory ST allowed for the windows to stay in when fully reclining it). When fall comes around I will put the HT back on for the winter...
Same. Dual top, and when the weather turns nice, it's 100% ST with the rear windows removed every chance I can get! I'm of the age where I need to turn down the stereo to see better, so I really don't care about hearing music (I don't even have it turned on most of the time anymore in general). Just like to listen to the breeze and the hum of the tires.

There's no big debate.
It's more like whatever floats your boat.
Totally fair — a lot of it really comes down to how you use the Bronco. It‘s less of a debate, more about what

Oh,Sorry It’s an AI-generated image, not real. The goal was just to illustrate the idea — but real setups are way more interesting.

All good. Got excited as I’m waiting for a fully retractable soft top. Until one comes out I’ll continue to roll with no top when weather permits.

No top no doors should be everyone’s favorite. It’s not very practical in the mountains though. The sun will fry you and then the clouds move in, the temp drops 30 degrees, and your bronco fills with hail.

So I rock the soft top all summer. I’ve heard the “broken camp chair on top” look decried on the forum a lot but there is just nothing like the convenience of throwing the top open without even getting out of the Bronco. And when you go into the grocery store just take literally 3 seconds to close it up. Rock it Safari style if the sun is too hot. I drove a wrangler in the 90s and the soft top was a pain in the ass — couldn’t leave the rear “windows” in place when you put it down.

We get too much snow most winters not to put the hard top back on.

We love our soft top. For christmas, bought the wife a BestTop Etop. Immediatly noticed how much more quiet it was and also warmer, cold not leaching thru the materiel. Now that the weather is getting better, the ease of operation is amazing. I honestly had been thinking of a hard top for the winter, but now that we have the etop, best of both worlds without having to swap twice a year.
