Abuse and neglect caused it more than likely. We use these engines in trucks for work. We break them in gently, change the oil early and often, and never run them hard until they’re up to full operating temperature after they’re broken in. We’ve had multiple trucks run for hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles. We also make sure that whenever we start a vehicle, we drive it until it’s up to full operating temperature. And maybe it’s just dumb luck but I’ve driven Fords for 40 years and over 3,000,000 miles and I’ve never had a single issue with any of them using these methods.Any theories on what might've caused this?
