We would absolutely love to take it actually off road. However, we are located in southeastern VA. We are 1000% flat land. No trails or climbs to use the Raptor. We would have to travel hours for that. What wet do have..... beaches and plenty of water. Here's a Pic for reference. Her Braptor is short lived. It has 5 years before it will be traded in on something new. It's been Chevy trucks past 15 years, but this is the first ford. Maybe we'll stay, but maybe we won't. We shall see. Our area though is flat as all get out. So we'd need to drive 4+hours one way to find trails like yall take them on. That's a vacation for us. Which we do 1-2 times a year. We head to the Shenandoah mountains. Mainly for chilling and fishing, but maybe we'll hit a trail this year with the Braptor, but in our area..... he's a pavement pounder 😆 🤣

I was just scrolling through and saw this map and had to do a double take.

I grew up in Kempsville and Great Bridge!

We definitely love it here. Especially in boating season. I mean we fish in off season obviously, but born and raised here..... we hibernate when its cold 😆 🤣

I've used automotive paint on my rims before, and it simply doesn't stand up to the offroad beatings. I've had great success with the "removable" rubber coatings, and as an added bonus, they touch-up remarkable well/easy!

That's exactly what I was curious for! Hah!

We are NC and about 2 hours from the beach. I'd love to get on some trails but we ar mostly beach as well. I drive mine daily with my 3 GSDs and my 10 year old. It's always nice to see what other people like me are doing 😅

Current mods are -
Front window and windshield XPEL tint
Jam Handles (front doors, rear doors, back door and window)
BD XL80s (amber - it's mostly for fog and astigmatism) on SDHQ A pillar mounts (AUX 2)
Rigid Amber Fog Covers (AUX 1)
Shorty Antenna
White D Ring Shackles
BD S2 Pros (clear and on the rear to help with backing up or use when hanging out back there- AUX 5)
Milwaukee air compressor and Staun tire deflators (would love to get an ARB brushless mounted somewhere but waiting for the right spot)
Heininger Twistep (for the pups an because I'm short)
EZ 4x4 Top Lifter, Door Cart and Alignment Pins (so I can remove and replace the doors and top on my own)
EZ 4x4 Folding Tailgate Table (excited to have this for the next beach trip!)

Want to add mods:
Possibly new wheels when tires are replaced. I'm leaning toward Toyo ATs and maintaining 37s
S&B intake and GooseTune (I don't go crazy but.... lol)
Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel

Thanks for the pointer to the Heininger Twistep!

The only thing that would have made the photos even better IMHO would be the C-C replaced by "RC and moon pies" or even better, Pepsi and moonpies!

Great photos. Realy nice what you've done with the B(ronco)Raptor! Charge on! (y)

I was thinking of eruption green on the ring with the badlands orange on the bolts....or vice versa. I have been scouring the interwebs to see if anyone has done either color combos and has pictures.... but no luck.
Guess I might have to give it a go myself!!!

Do it! I'm hoping to get this project done with EG as soon as the weather stabilizes and the pollen is gone.

Rings bought, Eruption Green paint kit bought. All systems almost go!

I've never done anything like this before so I appreciate @Hoytadickes posting this GREAT thread!

No problem at all my man. It's super easy to do, and looks great. I ended up finally adding wheels to our Braptor. Went with HRE. I've had them on other projects so it only seemed right....

OP - could you post a link to those wheels? I don't see them on HRE's site.

These are the set i ordered. Keep in mind Braptor has a different bolt pattern then all other Bronco, but they do offer both bolt patterns. I stuck with 17s instead of going larger. For me it was either these or te37s. I stayed HRE because they've always been great wheels for me. Classy well known wheel brand. Wish my wife would have agreed to go bronze on her azure grey, but the black look great as well 😔.
