I went doors off/roof off for the first time this weekend. As I was driving happily down the highway, I looked back to change lanes and noticed that my rear floor matts where flopping all over the place, and one was about to fly out. I didn't realize it at first, but upon inspection the rear matts are not snapped into place like the ones in the front.

I have the rubber floor liners available for vinyl flooring, that fit into the active drain plug grooves. The back matts look pretty slick because they have a nice Bronco emblem that fits across the middle section on the floor. I had to pull the rear matts out for doors off travelling, a little bummed about that.

wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what you did. I had a mind to put some 2 sided tape down to help secure the matts.

I have the Husky liners and above 40mph they would flap around. I bought a roll of 3M Dual Lock tape from Amazon (LINK) and addached each side of the mat to the door sill. No more flapping!

I noticed this was happening to my Del Taco quesadilla when I tired to eat at freeway speeds with the doors off.

Like many have said, two sided tape does the trick.

I took the rear mats out the other day and was very surprised that they don't secure in place at all! Really dumb for a truck where the doors can be removed.

I usually have my kids big feet holding them down. I also have a small fire extinguisher under each seat that wedges in perfect and holds the front part of the mat tight. You could probably run a bungee across to your steps or other hold down.
