Hello,

Have you guys heard rumors that Ford released 10-speed AT update (both internals and software) for 2026 model year? Information you can find on the web is very limited and it sounds very AI-ish. Do any of you have substantial info about this update? Have you noticed any difference in 2026 model shifting logic compared to previous years? Can previous years be updated to 2026 calibration? I appreciate any feedback.

I know GM updated their version of the 10 speed. Haven't heard anything about Ford doing so with the exception of software. GM's version has definitely been more problematic than has Ford's version of the jointly developed 10 speed. The Bronco version is a different transmission, though and seems to be more reliable than either of the original 10 speeds.

There hasn’t been any changes according to the parts catalog. Some software may have been tweaked here or there, but overall I’m sure it’s mostly the same.

The 10R60 in the bronco doesn’t really have any common issues, so I don’t know what or why they would change

I saw a Ford tech talking about the 10 speed and he said he rarely works on the 10R60 compared to the 10R80 in the F-150. It made me wonder if there's a fair amount of differences in the design of each even though they are both 10 speeds.
They’re very similar, but most parts in the 60 are just a little smaller
