So - This all started with wanting to trigger my light bar with the high beam switch. I've seen many of you wanting to do this. And as many know - Highbeams are triggered by the CANBUS - not just a simple wire to tap. Thus started my somewhat expensive journey to solve this problem.

I'll just go straight to the solution I used.
  • XBB OBD2 Dongle and Relay
  • Relay wired straight to the battery and my ground bar.
  • Both relay trigger wires go to my Garmin Power Switch control inputs (there are two).
  • In the Garmin Power Switch App - I set circuit 1 to turn on with control input 1 (you can have all 6 come on at the same time for scenes)
  • Mounted the KCHilites Gravity Bar (6 total lights) as per their instructions.
  • Wired ground to my ground bus bar and Hot to circuit 1 on my Garmin.

And as you can see from the photos and videos it's all working like we all want it working.

A couple things:
  • XBB says they have a recipe for the Bronco - It's in their app. However the signal pulses and doesn't give constant single - But the current Gen Ford Ranger recipe works like a champ (same-ish chassis and all).
  • The 6 KC lights pull 10 total amps.
