Amp Research Posi-Tap Alternatives

I was wondering if anyone has made a harness for the Bronco to prevent the stupid need to Posi-Tap the BCM when installing Amp Research power steps which are "plug n play" (not).

i put AMP power steps on my Bronco about 2 years ago ... taping the tiny wires was a PITA ... i used tape to make a little gutter for when i dropped the connectors as it took several attempts to get them connected ... the good news is, once done, they are solid and have worked perfect

i am not sure if your interested, but i did also use one of these to leave the OBD port open and have the steps working at the same time

Yeah I'm definitely interested in those, but I can't believe no one has made adapters/splitter to get around Posi-Tap.

Nope not worth the price to have a custom harness made.

It's honestly not that difficult we've find. We take the front seat out and I work upside down. Not ideal BUT it works.

This is an issue on most trucks btw. We just did a RAM the other day and while the wires were easier to get to... still a bit finicky doing it.

I usually attach the taps to the ODBII wires FIRST and then I can use one hand to put 1/2 of that pin thing on the wire, twist my ODBII wire counter clockwise a few turns and then when I go to put it on and turn clockwise it straightens out. Works well.

May I ask why you didn't buy your steps from us

I haven't bought yet. As the Posi-Tap while easy, has me a little annoyed - especially how much these cost
