Our Broncos are very similar. They would have been more alike if you had been able to get the nonSas you wanted. :) I have the 2D + V6 + Lux.
Your trip is also very similar to our first road trip in our Bronco. We purchased from @Granger Ford and drove it home, stopping at many of the same...
So no more stoplight yoga? 🙂
Too bad I didn’t notice this back when Car & Driver reviewed it when it was $17 instead of $24. I wonder what vehicle the inventor drove that made him invent this. 🙂
I agree, tan/camel interior would look great, but I give them a pass because they used a roll of genuine vintage material for the seats. And the bumper matches. My version would probably be red exterior with camel seats. Chrome bumper if any company still does chrome. 😆 White grille would work...
I have no regrets taking the V6. :)
I don’t know what others issues are, I just bought the 2-door for the looks. 😆 I’ve actually never been in a 4-door, but it’s nice to have a comeback when people rub me about the lack of cargo space in the 2-door. Personally, I think in a Wrangler, a 4-door...
To be fair, if someone doesn't really off-road, maybe it's OK that they chase high-mileage tires. I bought a set of Goodyear Workorse ATs for basic street driving to preserve my KO2s for off-road use. I need my off-road tires to primarily handle Moab and Utah’s infamous sharpie rocks--those...
That's kind of an edge case--a scenario where you don't need them half of the year. Usually, if you bought them, you need them. Your wife doesn't get in your Bronco for six months.:)
Keep or sell depends on your use case. Not ideal for rock crawling or other clearance needs, but good for general purpose off-roading and easier step-in for the vertically challenged. 🙂
Drive normal and don't stick with the same engine RPM for long periods. I've never had engine work needed on any vehicle I've ever owned, and the oldest in the family fleet is over 20 years old and still a daily driver.
When I added front mud flaps "splash guards in Ford Accessories speak", I noticed a lot less mud hitting the lower part of the Bronco. I think the combination of splash guards and lower-door PPF is the best way to go. If you stop at the door crease, the line will be practically invisible and the...
I bought the 2-door V6 because I had to buy without test-driving the 4-cylinder vs. the 6. No ragrets, not even one letter.
It's possible I might have found the 4 to be good enough. I've got a friend with a Rubicon, and I will guarantee you'll find the Bronco drives night-and-day better...
When the auto beats the manual, maybe it's time to change which transmission gets that moniker. It used to be that was the derogatory term for an automatic because it was slower. Now the manual is the slush box ;). I'm more of a "manual in the right application" person, and while I...
I drove 10 years in one state and never got a rock chip. 10 years in another state and had multiple hits. I didn't change my driving style, and number of miles driven was about the same.
