On the topic of the parking brake, the thing that gets me is that most every other vehicle is a "pull to release, and press to engage". I'm a bit slow to adapt, but even after 3 years, I'm still jumping in and "pulling" to release my brake. But once I sort that out, it's smiles for miles! 😁
@dkittel thanks for sharing your epic adventure! Very inspiring as my wife and I prepare our Route 66 trip (as much of the original route as we can navigate) later this year. I grew up in the Southwest (NM) however, I've never ventured south of the border. As a dirt bike rider, Baja has...
I don't have a front camera, I have the Wolfbox G930, which has the built in camera and a wired rear camera, but I did run the wire for the rear camera.
It wasn't difficult to run the wire; it did take a bit of time though. I started at the mirror [where the wire plugs into the camera] and...
I replaced my stock bumper, which required me to relocate my license plate, which is inherently much higher than the stock location.
As far as issues removing my original rearview mirror, none that I'm aware of at this point. But I do only have the mid-package [i.e. less electronics] on my...
I replaced my rearview mirror with a Wolfbox G930, due to being the same 10" size. I tucked the OEM connector into the plastic cover, and everything is working great. No loss of any functionality elsewhere in the Bronco.
I went with the Wolfbox G930 (10" mirror) and it was a direct replacement for my Bronco's rear view mirror. I used the OEM bracket (as mentioned), and everything has been working perfectly. One more thing, I went with the license plate mounting bracket and hardwire kit for a complete install...
I consider myself lucky if I complete a DIY home project in only 2 trips!
As for the shocks recall, I'm still waiting for the call that the parts are in, but I'm not in a hurry, I'm fortunate that mine are actually still in good shape.
I had my appointment on Thursday (09/12)... no leaks and parts ordered, total time 3.5hrs. Parts are now ordered. Like you said, 2 trips to the dealership.
Definitely non-technical. The info in OnX - Offroad is very accurate. There are some tight switch-back kinda turns that narrow to about 1 lane wide in places, but overall, just a great drive through the mountains and forest. When we were there, it had just rained, so the only area that was...
After we did the Million Dollar Hwy, we spent quite a bit of time around Ouray, actually we stayed near Ridgeway, Co and drove into Ouray and surrounding areas. One favorite drive for us was the Last Dollar Road which we took all the way into Telluride. We were there during the changing of the...
I went the “drop of blue loctite” route with mine. Haven’t had an issue with them since. And the bolts are still easily removed when I take my hardtop off.
EDIT: Due to last minute family commitments, we will not be able to attend the outing after all. I hope to be able to join in the future. Have a great trip!!
@RustysBronco focus on taking care of things at home for your mom. We'll grab lots of picks and video to share. I hope your mom gets to feeling better soon. We'll see you on the next trip.
