Bilstein 5100s are a great budget option, but they’re on the firmer side. I don’t have hands-on experience with them on a Bronco, but between your two options, I would favor the 6112’s (coming from someone who started with Hitachi then went Eibach Pro Truck 2.0 Coilovers and next Monday is...
From factory I had the capable bumper with the full factory skid plate package (worked for me!)
Replaced front engine skid with 4WP from Amazon for $20. Much sturdier than factory
Transmission and cross member skids from RCI
That’s tilted pretty good. Mine isn’t like that. I had to fiddle with the bumper a LOT to level it out. However, one of the smaller side bolts broke off going in. I’m guessing some of the holes aren’t lined up properly due to poor QC
Yikes. That’s not good. If I were doing it again (at budget), I would get 4WP/ProComp 2.5 Coilovers instead
Would rather save for something better than both tho
For my rears I contacted PMW first, they told me to go to Eibach customer service
For my front, I went straight to Eibach
The time is strange too. Mine were approved the next day
FWIW I wouldn’t buy them again. They just don’t hold up well enough even with light offroad usage. I put them through WAY more than light usage. They were abused more and more the longer I had them
I had 3 of 4 of my Eibach Pro Truck 2.0 coilovers replaced under warranty after they blew up. Both my first and second set have lasted ~20k miles. HD springs up front. Rears were dangerous after they blew out. Traction control would kick on at interstate speed in traffic over expansion joints...
This is where I bought both my front, rear, and winch plate for the front: https://autoplicity.com/15156182-4-wheel-parts-61468w
I got the 4WP engine skid from Amazon for $20 shipped to my door
All in, my bumpers, winch mount, and upgraded engine skid set me back less than $1k
Also, the...
The 4WP bumpers (the original ones) can be found for VERY cheap and they’re pretty sturdy. Took a deer at ~40mph and the bumper could care less. Just tweaked corner of valence panel and cracked the grille a lil
I definitely did more with them than they are intended for. I always found them very comfortable
I have Bilstein 8112’s sitting in the garage, just waiting to get the Bronco back from the body shop (hail damage… leaving the trail scars)
The lack of information on the Falcon’s is what prevented me from purchasing them
They were my pick over Fox, King, and Icon. Ride was #2. Then I learned about Bilstein 8112’s and nothing else interested me anymore
For normal street use they’ll be great! Mine lasted 20k-25k miles on both sets
I do it all: street, gravel, dirt, slow rock crawling, moderate speed mixed rock/dirt, mud, deep water crossings (3’), snow, deep sand, high speed loose and bouncy, whoops… really everything, I hate turning around...
I believe Matt’s Off Road Recovery has bent the frame horns while lifting on 3 Bronco’s with DV8 front bumpers and no reinforcement brackets (2 on video, IIRC - Matt wasn’t impressed with the DV8 bumpers)
