It wouldn't hurt, but...
I think you would have better results for nothing but labor and a few feet of good quality wire by running the rear pods off the factory amp, and using the Key to power the kick panel and dash speakers separately.
You might have the same issue. Before you start, I would align all the top panels as well as possible. The latch strikes are attached to the rollbar by three very large torx-plus fasteners. On one side (driver's, I think) the pins locate the roof laterally. On the other side they float in a...
Hoss 2.0 takeoffs for $400: You are gambling with premature failure and you have no idea if you are getting the proper spring rate.
Bilstein 5100 for $600: You are getting new shocks and are reusing springs of the proper weight unless you've added a bunch of stuff. Plus, you can set the ride...
With the 280/70-17 MT's it looks like I have about 3/4" of clearance to the UCA at full lock. These have a section width of 11.6" The Falken Wildpeak RT's have a section width of 11.5" in 285/75 and 11.7" in 35 x 11.5 so I think either should clear with wiggle room. Thinking is not knowing 🙂...
Thank you for this insight. I have crawled up inclines with only a rear locker and the 33" MT's without wheelspin where a Bronco Raptor needed to keep up more momentum. To be fair I was better at throttle modulation but I would bet the narrower tires helped there.
I will take a look and see how much wiggle room I have with the UCA's with the 285/70's. If it looks like I don't have much margin then it's 285/75's or 35mm offset wheels. I'm not worried about the wheel well line as I'm right around Sasquatch suspension height right now and can "easily" bump...
To your first point, the purpose of the smaller offset wheels is to clear the control arms with tires wider than 285mm.
As to your question, the MT's are awesome. Great on dry roads. Great on wet roads. Good in the snow (but not nearly as good as the Hakkapeliitta's we run on our JKR)...
Hello all,
My 2023 BD 4 door MT or is currently setup with the factory rear locker, Bilstein 5100's set at ~1.5" of lift, and 285/70-17 MT Baja Boss AT's. This summer, I plan on taking it up an notch, as I am running more difficult rails. The pan is an M210 ELD in 4.89 front, regear the rear to...
I can highly recommend https://fourwheelcovers.com/. Here's a shot of mine when I was still on 32's; I had to have a new one made for my 33's because they fit nice and snug.
I really only use it when I am teaching a K9 course as I prefer the look of my nice black steel wheel, I do five tire...
Using a portable now but would like to free up cargo space. However, your web site lacks key information:
What are the dimensions?
What is the mounting bolt pattern?
There is no full wiring diagram. This is necessary if someone want to use an upfitter switch to trigger the compressor.
It is...
When I first received my Bronco I almost immediately swapped out the dash and rear pod speakers for Polk DB 402 units. (As a side note, I like to taker my top off, and this means sometimes you get surprised and rained on. So I try to keep everything either water resistant or protected from...
2023 BD 4 Door, MIC top:
For the last two years I have been chasing a rattle coming from the passenger side, center section, forward latch area. Here is what I did to track this down:
Added vacuum port covers to the various pins. No change.
Carefully aligned all adjustable latch plates on the...
Started with a BD 7M. First season I did trails with it stock. 32's and a rear locker take you pretty far.
Second season added 5100's (I scored a set for around $400 but even new at $600 a deal). Arguably better quality than the yellow Bilsteins. Added 33" MT's. Ran the stock tires in the...
