  1. Flat Towing, unexpected brake lockup.

supposedly the flat tow procedure from Ford has been updated with the added need to pull two fuses related to the brakes. I was thinking it was mentioned in this thread somewhere. I did not go back and look.. If not here it’s in another. Make sure you have the latest version of the Bronco...
  2. Brake Pads and Right to Repair

CAT and Cummins parts counter peeps require partial vin (cat requires the complete vin) because that’s how their search mechanism is designed to find parts quickly and easily. They don’t even want to know the model. That’s how they are used to doing it, thus their preferred method. And quite...
  3. 2026 Big Bend Sasquatch Door Not Closing

    Should be a simple adjustment.
  4. Turn Offroad Portals

It really is largely about how you drive. I was averaging 17.5 in sport mode on 93octane in a rural area with intermittent highway runs and when I went from 35’s to 37’s, mpg’s dropped to 15.5-16. I have never really cared about fuel mileage and hell, anything gets better than my V-10...
  5. Naming My Bronco

Congratulations on your new truck! we call ours ā€œThe Broncoā€. because we are un-creative and can’t agree on anything. And it’s actually my wife’s and she wants to call it something dumb. Don’t tell her I said so……. 😬
  6. Is the JKS max clearance kit always necessary for 37 tires?

Your mileage may vary. Haven’t had it fully flexed yet. We do rock crawl, but haven’t since switching from 35’s to 37’s. Also your wheel offset comes into play. Mine are +12mm. Zero offset or negative offset may very well hit at the rear.
  7. Is the JKS max clearance kit always necessary for 37 tires?

Mine isn’t close to hitting the rear. Do you have aftermarket upper control arms by chance? I don’t and because the caster is corrected with the lowers it may have moved the tire forward a little more than one with the caster corrected with aftermarket uppers. My tires measure 36.5ā€
  8. Is the JKS max clearance kit always necessary for 37 tires?

I trimmed the corners off my crash bar mounts (see picture) which rubbed immediately (turned at full lock on flat ground)and front inch off my factory rock sliders (not sure this was absolutely necessary but gave room for mudflaps not to rub). Slight non audible rubbing with +12 offset wheels...
  9. Footwear for offroad

I hear you on that. Why get muddy when they fight over who gets to hook up the winch.
  10. Front Differential Failure Club

I wondered the same thing, I don’t see how there’s any way over filling a differential could cause damage. Maybe blown seals because of thermal expansion, then loss of lubrication? But that doesn’t jive if they are vented.
  11. Footwear for offroad

Lace up tactical boots sprayed with water proofing. They fit pretty tight around your ankles and have a zipper so easy to remove. I don’t plan on wading knee deep in muck, but would if I had to.
  12. What tires does everyone run?

I went from 10-ply 35’s to 8-ply 37’s and wish I had done that from the beginning. I haven’t weighed them yet but my tire guy said they are definitely lighter. I will hold off on rating them until they have some miles on them. Priority tire delivered them next day. So far I really like them.
  13. 4 link. Should I pull the trigger?

I think it depends on what you do most with your Bronco. I would expect extreme articulation rock crawling to get significantly better, but on-road handling to get worse. But what do I know. @SierraBronco may have some words of wisdom here.
  14. Removing back window on a hardtop

No but we leave it open sometimes when we have just the front roof panels out or windows down. Makes great flow-through ventilation. Not at 70mph though. We have a cargo cover so nothing blows out.
